The event was attended by representatives of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) of the Ministry of Public Security , the National Cyber Security Association (NCA), the State Securities Commission, the State Bank of Vietnam Region II, Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) along with cyber security experts, representatives of businesses and media agencies.
According to statistics from A05, Ministry of Public Security, in the first 8 months of 2025, Vietnam recorded more than 1,500 online fraud cases, with estimated losses of more than 1,660 billion VND. More than 4,532 malicious domain names were detected (up 90%), with sophisticated tricks such as deepfake, crypto fraud, OTP hijacking, impersonating police agencies or banks...
Not only causing financial losses, cybercrime also threatens digital trust and the national digital transformation process. Therefore, "National Anti-Fraud" was initiated as a social movement, encouraging people to identify, respond properly and proactively share digital safety knowledge, protect themselves and the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tu Luong, Director of VTV9 emphasized: Anyone of us can become a victim of high-tech fraud. In addition, information theft and system sabotage of business organizations are no longer far-fetched stories, but are problems that are being seen and even faced every day. Obviously, it is not only economic damage, but also the loss of people's trust in the digital environment, affecting the national digital transformation process and business development.
Vietnam Television, as the country's main multimedia communication agency, has determined that the media must not only reflect the phenomenon but also take the lead in warning, educating and spreading the right actions. It is from that spirit that VTV9 initiated and launched the "National Anti-Fraud" Communication Campaign, a campaign designed to turn awareness into community strength.
Synergy - Action from many sides
The campaign marks an unprecedented collaboration between many forces: the National Cyber Security Association and the Public Security of the provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong as members of the Steering Committee; together with management agencies, businesses in the finance and securities industry, and media partners. This cooperation demonstrates a common determination to protect people and strengthen digital trust, helping the community to be safer, more confident and smarter in the digital environment.
The campaign deploys a series of multimedia content including reports, short videos, talk shows, infographics and community activities. The content will be broadcast on VTV1, VTV2, VTV4, VTV9 and posted synchronously on VTV's digital ecosystem.
In addition, social media partners such as The Anh 28, MCV Group, Beat Network, and TVH Media will join in expanding the campaign's reach on YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok, helping the campaign reach young audiences – the most vulnerable to online attacks.
The campaign's goal is to create a real social movement so that each person becomes the "first shield", each organization is a "digital safety point", and together build a safe digital living culture.
Accompanying the campaign, Cyber Security Expert Ngo Minh Hieu - Hieu PC shared: 'I can warn, the police can investigate, the bank can block the account, but the only person who can save you from fraud is you. When you are awake, you have become your own white knight'
The announcement ceremony was held in response to the signing ceremony of the "Hanoi Convention" on combating cybercrime, an important international event taking place in Vietnam on October 25-26.
This is the first global cooperation framework on cybersecurity, named after a place in Vietnam, demonstrating Vietnam's role, reputation and commitment in efforts to protect citizens and digital sovereignty, as well as creating a safe, transparent and humane cyber environment.
The "National Anti-Fraud" campaign is therefore not only a communication activity, but also an event of profound political and social significance, demonstrating Vietnam's strong commitment to protecting people in cyberspace and promoting a culture of digital safety for all people.
