Urgent evacuation of 6 households from landslide risk areas before storm No. 12 makes landfall

By 6 p.m. on October 22, Nam Giang commune (Da Nang) had mobilized and evacuated 6 households in areas at risk of landslides to a safe place.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 12 and prolonged heavy rain, on October 21 and 22, the leaders of Nam Giang commune ( Da Nang ) organized a working group to inspect storm prevention and control work in villages in the area.

On-site forces participated in evacuating property to help people.

The working group inspected residential areas at risk of landslides and flooding, schools, health stations, dams and public works. Through the inspection, most villages have proactively implemented response plans, reviewed and counted households at high risk to be ready to evacuate when necessary, and at the same time organized to reinforce houses, harvest crops and reinforce key roads.

Particularly in A Bat and Pa Dhi hamlets, Nam Giang commune, there are 6 households with 19 people in high-risk landslide areas that need to be urgently evacuated. Therefore, Nam Giang commune leaders mobilized people to move to a safe place and by 6:00 p.m. on October 22, the evacuation was completed.

The People's Committee of Nam Giang commune directed the branches and villages to continue to closely follow the instructions of the superiors, regularly update the storm's developments to proactively respond; fully prepare forces, means and materials according to the "4 on-site" motto. At the same time, carefully check and review areas at risk of landslides and flooding, ensuring absolute safety for people; organize 24/24h on-duty, promptly report and handle arising situations.
