Regarding the response plans for storm No. 12 and floods in the area, the leaders of Hue City People's Committee noted three key issues that need to be focused on related to landslides in communes A Luoi 1 to A Luoi 5, Khe Tre commune, Thuong Nhat, Road 74, Phu Gia pass, Phuoc Tuong; riverbank and coastal erosion and flooding in low-lying lagoon and coastal areas.
As of the afternoon of October 22, units and localities in the city have prepared scenarios to respond to storms, heavy rains, floods, landslides, flash floods and are ready to evacuate people in vulnerable areas when necessary; reserve food and provisions to ensure continuous and stable supply in case of natural disasters, floods and storms and throughout the rainy and stormy season.

The working group inspected the current status of coastal erosion at Phu Thuan beach, Thuan An ward and directed the implementation of remedial measures. The inspection showed that big waves, strong winds, and rising sea levels had caused erosion along the coastal road, affecting people's business activities. In order to prevent further erosion, the authorities have reinforced the coastline, but the erosion continues, showing no signs of stopping.
Here, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung requested units to urgently reinforce the dike, put up warning signs, and not let people go to dangerous areas. The Secretary of the City Party Committee requested the City Civil Defense Command and units and localities to continue to monitor the situation, absolutely not be subjective or negligent in responding to storms and rains, minimizing the damage caused by natural disasters. Units and localities should pay attention to preparing necessities, be ready to evacuate people when necessary; step up propaganda work so that people can join local Party committees and authorities in responding to storms and rains.

Checking the landslide situation at high-risk landslide locations in the area, the city leaders requested units to coordinate with local authorities to barricade and close roads to avoid danger caused by landslides on the slope of the road leading to La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway (through Khe Tre commune). In addition, at the peak of Pass No. 5, Loc Hung village, Khe Tre commune, there is a risk of landslides at the peak of the pass. If a landslide occurs, it will isolate about 40 households in this area.
Based on the reality in Khe Tre commune, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh reminded the local authorities to be flexible in directing and evacuating people when necessary. In the long term, there should be a planning plan to relocate people in areas with high risk of landslides to live in other, safer locations. Everyone must be ready to respond to storms according to the "4 on-site" motto, minimizing the damage caused by storms.
