National Tourism Administration works with Lam Dong on tourism business activities

On the afternoon of October 22, a working delegation from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism had a working session with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on a number of issues related to tourism business activities in the area.

The working delegation was led by Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. On the Lam Dong side, Ms. Nguyen Lan Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with representatives of the Tourism Association, travel agencies and tourist accommodation establishments in the area attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Lan Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong, reported on some outstanding results in tourism management and development in recent times. At the same time, she pointed out the shortcomings and problems that still exist, such as: Management of tourist areas and spots; management of accommodation facilities; issuance of tour guide cards and the development of some tourism products that pose potential risks to the lives and health of tourists.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong has proposed to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to consider supplementing a number of legal regulations related to the operation of tourist areas, attractions and accommodation facilities. At the same time, the Department also recommended issuing specific guidelines for tourism products that pose risks to the life and health of tourists, as well as supplementing standards for issuing tour guide cards to better suit the practical operations of the industry.

At the end of the working session, Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, acknowledged and highly appreciated the leadership and direction efforts of Lam Dong province in tourism development in recent times. Mr. Pham Van Thuy affirmed that the achieved results have contributed significantly to the overall development of the tourism industry in the country. Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the locality, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will synthesize and report to the competent authority for consideration and resolution as soon as possible.
