On June 11, Mr. Nguyen Van Liet, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision to declare an emergency situation of dangerous landslides on the Cai Cao River bank, from Vinh Quang Factory to Mr. Dang Thanh Son's house, about 460 m long, in Phu An Hamlet, Phu Duc Commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long. The declaration of an emergency situation is to prevent possible consequences.

Accordingly, the Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue) to preside over and coordinate with relevant provincial departments and branches, and the Chairman of Long Ho District People's Committee to deploy solutions to limit damage to people and property, ensure production safety and people's lives in accordance with current legal regulations.

As Thanh Nien reported, at 4:30 a.m. on June 9, the traffic road combined with the dike along Cai Cao River (Phu An Hamlet, Phu Duc Commune, Long Ho District) completely collapsed about 150 meters, eroding 4-7 meters into the bank.

In nearby areas, many cracks appeared inside the embankment. Traffic was cut off, affecting the production and daily life of 23 households with 132 people. The landslide directly affected 8 houses, of which 2 houses had landslides to the foundation and needed to be urgently relocated, 6 houses had cracks and subsidence inside the yard and fence, about 2-5 m from the houses.
