VNG aims to promote Vietnamese gaming industry to reach regional level

On the morning of May 26, the Vietnam Gameverse 2025 forum officially opened at the SECC Exhibition Center (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City). VNG continued to be a strategic partner for the third consecutive year and brought many exciting activities to the event.

Opening the Vietnam Game Forum, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shared: “Vietnam Gameverse 2025 has witnessed many records, many firsts. For the first time, the scale of Vietnam Gameverse 2025 has expanded to more than 100 participating units and booths, double last year and 5 times more than the first season. For the first time, multinational corporations, large game companies such as Apple, Meta, Google, ROBLOX, Riot Games... all attended, worked with management agencies, exchanged and cooperated extensively with game businesses".

As a strategic sponsor of the event for 3 consecutive years, Mr. La Xuan Thang - Director of Online Game Publishing VNG emphasized: “After 3 years of organization, Gameverse is not only a festival of the Vietnamese gaming industry but has become an important bridge between developers, publishers and the gaming community. We expect Gameverse 2025 to continue to inspire the young generation, open up more cooperation opportunities and bring the Vietnamese gaming industry further on the regional map. As a companion enterprise from the early days, VNG is committed to continuing to contribute with quality products, diverse connection activities and supporting the community to develop sustainably”.

Specifically, VNG brings to Gameverse 2025 seven experience booths with outstanding games such as Vo Lam Truyen Ky, Lineage2M, MU Luc Dia VNG, VALORANT, League of Legends, Truth Arena, Play Together VNG ... Exchange activities, showmatch competitions with the D'Xavier team - the current champion of PUBG Mobile Southeast Asia - and famous streamers promise to create a vibrant atmosphere. In addition, Zalopay participates with the pop-up store "Fun Store", combining online and real-life experiences for gamers. Last year, VNG's booths attracted nearly 10,000 visitors and experiences.

Professionalizing eSports - Expanding the Definition of Sport

As a strategic partner of Riot Games, VNG plays a central role in the professionalization of eSports in Vietnam, from operating the Vietnam Championship Series (VCS) tournament system to supporting players in international competitions. VNG's systematic training ecosystem aims to turn eSports into a high-performance sport, opening up many new career opportunities: from players, coaches to casters, content producers and event organizers.

eSports is growing strongly, going beyond the framework of a form of entertainment to become a global industry with millions of followers and billions of dollars in revenue, officially recognized in major sporting events such as the SEA Games or Asian Games.

Workshop for Game Developers on the Roblox Platform

At Gameverse 2025, VNGGames collaborated with Roblox to organize the workshop “Roblox: An Immersive Platform for Innovation” to connect individual developers, game studios and brands in Vietnam with representatives from Roblox - a creative platform with more than 97 million daily active users.

Roblox is emerging as a powerful channel for game development and publishing. In the past 12 months alone, Roblox has paid out more than $803 million to global developers, up 15% from the previous year. The top 10 developers earned an average of $30 million per year - five times higher than in 2019.

According to Mr. Gong Chen, Solution Development Manager on Roblox, the difference of this platform is the ability to empower creativity for everyone - even those without programming background: "Not just for entertainment, Roblox is an open platform for all types of content: media, shopping, entertainment,education ... We set out the vision of 'Redefining how a billion people connect' in a positive and civilized way. On Roblox, anyone can create anything, anywhere."

Vietnam Gameverse 2025 attracts a large number of young people to attend

Since becoming the publishing partner of Roblox in Vietnam in 2024, VNGGames has opened a “new door” for the domestic creative community. With the goal of building a safe and culturally appropriate gaming community, Roblox - VNG has attracted more than 10 million users in just the first few months of operation. The platform integrates security features according to international standards, complies with Decree 147/2024/ND-CP on cyberspace management, and provides a Vietnamese interface and domestic programs such as “Roblox Vietnam Challenge” to encourage user participation. Vietnamese developers can now use Roblox Studio, take advantage of the global ecosystem and these support programs to commercialize their products in the international market.
