Specifically, at around 1:30 p.m. on October 24, a driver at Cu Lan Village Tourist Area (Lat Commune, Lac Duong District, Lam Dong Province) was taking tourists along the stream when a flash flood suddenly struck.
At that time, the car had 5 people including 4 Korean tourists (2 men, 2 women) and a Vietnamese driver.
When the accident happened, a male tourist and the driver escaped; the remaining 3 tourists were swept away by the flood with the car.
However, the male tourist also died later.

At around 4:30 p.m. the same day, authorities found the bodies of the remaining three tourists. The furthest location where the bodies were found was about 2km from the accident site.
According to authorities, the incident happened suddenly, flood from upstream swept away the car leading to the accident.
Immediately after the incident, rescue forces quickly arrived at the scene. Leaders of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also went directly to the scene to direct the search for victims.
Lam Dong provincial authorities have informed the Korean diplomatic agency in Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate in protecting citizens and handling consequences in accordance with the law.
Prime Minister requests urgent investigation into the cause
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just issued an official dispatch on handling the accident that killed four Korean tourists at Cu Lan tourist area.
In the telegram, the Prime Minister sent his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to quickly overcome the consequences of the incident; investigate, determine the cause, clarify responsibilities, and strictly handle violations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for presiding over and coordinating with the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and the Korean Embassy in Vietnam to urgently handle related issues and support funeral arrangements for the victims.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism urgently coordinated with Lam Dong province and relevant agencies to overcome the consequences of the incident; directed localities nationwide to strengthen security and safety for tourists.
The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control monitors natural disaster situations, proactively directs and urges localities to deploy disaster prevention, control and overcoming consequences within its authority.
