From October 1 to 14, the working delegation of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command led by Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of Coast Guard Region 2, visited and worked in Cebu City, Philippines.

The mission is an annual foreign affairs activity to strengthen the friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), while sharing experiences in law enforcement at sea, improving coordination capacity in handling non-traditional security situations, contributing to protecting security, order and maritime safety in the region.
During their stay in the Philippines, the delegation held courtesy calls on the Cebu City government; visited the Viasayas Central Regional Headquarters; participated in bilateral conferences and joint exercises with the Philippine Coast Guard at sea.
During the working sessions, the two sides reviewed the results of cooperation in recent times, especially joint patrols in border waters, information sharing on maritime security and safety, as well as humanitarian assistance and search and rescue at sea. The two forces also exchanged comprehensive assessments of the cooperation contents between the two forces in 2025 and outlined cooperation directions for 2026.

The Chief of the CSB Region 2 Command presented certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements during a foreign affairs mission in the Philippines.
In addition to professional activities, the Working Group also coordinated with the Philippine Coast Guard Central Viasayas to support Filipino people affected by the earthquake in Bogo City, northern Cebu Province. The Working Group provided 800 kg of rice, 10 boxes of instant noodles and some essential necessities. Organized medical examinations and distributed medicine to more than 100 people in the affected area.
Speaking at the end of the working trip, Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Head of the Vietnamese delegation, highly appreciated the warm and cordial reception of the Philippine Coast Guard Command, Central Viasayas Region; and expressed his belief that, on the basis of the increasingly close cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Philippine Coast Guard, the coordination contents in the coming time will be implemented effectively, substantially and increasingly expanded. Thereby, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty and sovereign rights of each country at sea, while maintaining peace , stability and sustainable development in the East Sea region.
