To maintain the two border lines, in the period of 2020 - 2025, the Border Guard of Quang Tri province conducted 1,624 unilateral patrols with 9,364 officers and soldiers and 593 militia, commune police, forest rangers, commune leaders and people participating; organized 219 bilateral patrols with 3,803 officers and soldiers, 36 leaders and people participating; patrolled the coast 1,983 times, with 24,842 officers and soldiers participating; patrolled to protect the sea area combined with monitoring fishing activities 209 times with 231 vehicles and 1,520 officers and soldiers participating; conducted 1,197 patrols on rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters, with 6,571 officers and soldiers participating; Check, control and register 189,162 ships and over 1,100,996 people entering and exiting at river mouths and estuaries.

In flood and storm prevention and disaster relief, the provincial Border Guard established 307 on-duty teams, mobilizing 3,663 officers and soldiers to coordinate with other forces to guide more than 5,555 ships and boats to safe shelters; successfully deployed 82 rescue operations with 79 ships and 319 crew members; coordinated the evacuation of 1,287 households from vulnerable areas; and transported 79 tons of relief goods for the people.

An important task in building the all-people border defense posture is: The Border Guard force has focused on promoting propaganda and mobilizing the people to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; agreements and regulations on management and protection of national borders; maintaining and improving the effectiveness of the movement of all people participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation. At the same time, promoting the role of the Border Guard cadres and party members in participating in the grassroots political system, contributing to improving the quality of activities of local Party committees and authorities.

“Continuing to closely link the task of protecting border sovereignty with building a comprehensively strong border area, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard will step up the strengthening of the people's hearts and minds, promoting the combined strength of the all-people border defense. Accordingly, it is necessary to innovate the content and form of propaganda and mass mobilization, especially in remote areas, border areas, islands... to better meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation,” said Colonel Ngo Minh Dien, Deputy Political Commissar of the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard.

During the past term, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard had 10 cadres participating in the district-level Party Committee, 25 cadres participating in the commune-level Party Committee; 18 cadres were strengthened to take on the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of border communes; 27 cadres participated in the People's Council delegates at all levels; 143 cadres participated in activities at 90 village and hamlet Party cells; assigned 661 Border Guard Party members to be in charge of 2,695 households in the border area. Through practical activities, it has advised on consolidating and perfecting 294 grassroots Party organizations, 284 socio-political organizations; admitted 401 Party members, including 152 ethnic minority Party members.

The provincial Border Guard force has actively implemented many practical, creative programs and models with profound humanistic significance, creating a strong ripple effect, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by local Party committees, authorities and people, such as: "Border light", "Border spring - Warming the hearts of the villagers", "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard station", "Saturday back to the village", "Twinning residential clusters on both sides of the border", "Village and hamlet without drug-related crimes", "Radio broadcasting in distant villages"... promoting practical effectiveness, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, consolidating the people's hearts in the border area.

Implementing the movement "All people participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation", the Border Guard of Quang Tri province has signed 20 coordination programs with provincial departments, branches and organizations. Effectively maintaining 59 self-management groups with 1,532 households including 3,884 members participating in self-management of more than 409km of border line and 134 national border markers; establishing and maintaining effective operation of 738 self-management groups for security and order in villages and hamlets with 4,839 members; establishing 1 self-management group in border gate areas with 32 members; maintaining 180 safe solidarity boat groups with 1,848 vehicles and 8,713 crew members; establishing 49 self-management groups for safe wharves with 1,753 members participating.

Assessing the role of the Border Guard in participating in socio-economic development on the two border lines and mobilizing people to build a solid border defense posture, Colonel Ngo Minh Dien, Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard of Quang Tri province, shared: Through many effective and practical movements, programs and models, the Provincial Border Guard together with Party committees and authorities at all levels have gradually helped people stabilize their lives.

Through which, billions of dong have been mobilized each year to care for care, improve material and spiritual life, strengthen people's trust in the Party, State and Army.
