Vung Tau achieved many positive results in economic and social development.

Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council gave a speech at the meeting.

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh, Secretary of the Vung Tau City Party Committee, said that in the first 5 months of 2025, the city's key economic sectors all increased by 10% or more compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, revenue from accommodation and food services reached VND 5,221 billion, an increase of 24.34%. As of May 19, the city's budget revenue reached VND 2,195 billion, equal to 42% of the estimate assigned by the province.

The city is focusing on starting 3 public investment projects including: dredging and renovating Bau Sen Lake; renovating and upgrading Nguyen Kim Street, Tu Xuong Street and preparing to start 11 public investment projects to continue developing local infrastructure. Regarding digital society, the city has mobilized nearly 121,000 people to register to use electronic signatures and personal digital signatures, reaching a rate of 45.4%. The city Party Committee has completed the development target of 1,160/1,158 party members for the 2020-2025 term.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Viet Thanh acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Vung Tau City Party Committee in carrying out political tasks in the first months of the year. The Provincial Party Committee Secretary requested the Standing Committee of the Vung Tau City Party Committee to strengthen leadership and direction in accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025. At the same time, remove bottlenecks in site clearance to attract more investors to build high-class and quality entertainment areas to serve people and tourists; urgently coordinate to develop a plan to implement tourism activities from now until the end of 2025 to attract visitors.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted that the city needs to focus on effectively implementing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, creating breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation. In particular, the locality needs to promote the rate of online file processing to facilitate people and businesses.

Continue to implement the arrangement and streamlining of the political system's organizational apparatus, prepare personnel, and be ready for the upcoming two-level government activities and when the province merges with Ho Chi Minh City.
