Being honored as Asia's Leading Beach Tourism Destination not only affirms Vung Tau's beach tourism brand but also opens up opportunities to attract investment and develop high-end tourism products.

Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City) was named for the first time in "Asia's Leading Beach Destination" at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia and Oceania 2025 ceremony held on the evening of October 13, in Hong Kong (China).

This category honors coastal cities that have a special appeal to short-term vacationers.

Vung Tau's recognition demonstrates the locality's efforts in investing in infrastructure, cleaning beaches, upgrading services and improving tourist experiences over the years.

In 2025, Vung Tau marked a strong change when the Thuy Van Road Improvement Project was completed and put into use. The entire Bai Sau area was planned and renovated synchronously, creating a modern resort and entertainment space, serving the people and tourists.

Being listed at the World Travel Awards 2025 not only affirms Vung Tau's sea tourism brand in the international arena but also opens up opportunities to attract investment and develop high-end tourism products in the coming time.

Vung Tau coastal ward is a tourist and resort destination chosen by many tourists because of its airy space, poetic coastal landscape, and many unique historical and cultural relics.

Vung Tau Ward is currently formed on the basis of merging 7 central wards of Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in the past. The ward owns a rare comprehensive tourism ecosystem: sea, mountains, relics, cuisine and culture.

Tourist destinations such as Front Beach, Back Beach, Small Mountain, Big Mountain, Christ statue, lighthouse, Nghinh Phong Cape... have shaped a unique tourism brand for Vung Tau ward.

In particular, recently, on the occasion of the 80th National Day Anniversary, the Tam Thang Square project with the highlight of Tam Thang Tower in Vung Tau ward was completed, contributing to increasing the beauty of this coastal urban space.

During the recent National Day holiday on September 2, Vung Tau ward welcomed over 230,000 tourists to visit, swim, and relax, affirming the economic strength of tourism and services of the coastal city.

The 1st Congress of Vung Tau Ward Party Committee (term 2025-2030) proposed three important breakthroughs, emphasizing the goal of building Vung Tau Ward "Bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized - safe - friendly".

With its unique advantages of having sea, mountains, urban landscape forests, and many national historical and cultural relics, Vung Tau ward is identified as one of the important localities on the Ho Chi Minh City tourist route.

The local Party Committee, government and people are determined to build a smart tourist city, diversifying services, trade and resorts to put Vung Tau on par with many famous tourist cities in the region.

If a decade ago, many people still considered Vung Tau a short-term destination, mainly for swimming and eating seafood, now that image is gradually changing.

Visitors to Vung Tau can now experience a wider variety of activities, from strolling on Thuy Van Avenue, visiting Tam Thang Tower, participating in community events, enjoying local cuisine, to eco-tourism, mountain climbing or visiting cultural and historical relics.

In the eyes of international tourists, Vung Tau is also gradually asserting its new appeal: a modern, dynamic coastal city that still retains its indigenous cultural soul.

Bold steps in infrastructure improvement, icon creation and service upgrades are just the beginning. For Vung Tau to truly become a world-class tourist city, the locality needs to continue to invest heavily in high-quality tourism products; develop a green, smart and sustainable tourism model.

The locality calls on domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in resort, entertainment, healthcare, and marine sports services; strengthen image promotion in the international market, and connect tours with major cities in the region.

With the aspiration to reach new heights and the consensus of the government, people and businesses, a modern, civilized and friendly Vung Tau will certainly no longer be a distant prospect.
