According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the World Travel Awards 2025 - "The Oscars of the world tourism industry", recently took place in Hong Kong (China). At the event, Ho Chi Minh City was named in four prestigious categories, continuing to affirm the brand "Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City" on the global tourism map.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City has won the award "Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination 2025" - Asia's leading business travel destination (4 consecutive years, from 2022 - 2025); "Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination 2025" - Asia's leading festival and event destination (4 consecutive years); "Asia's Leading City Tourist Board 2025" - Asia's leading local tourism management agency, under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism (3 consecutive years, from 2023 - 2025) and "Asia's Leading Coastal City Break Destination 2025" - Asia's leading short-break coastal city destination, in Vung Tau - Ho Chi Minh City (first time honored).

Notably, Vung Tau - a newly merged city into Ho Chi Minh City, was honored for the first time in the category of "Top Short-Term Vacation Destination in Asia's Leading Coastal City". This is an important milestone, contributing to the stronger promotion of Vietnam's sea and island tourism image, while demonstrating the diverse tourism development potential of Ho Chi Minh City - from vibrant urban areas to high-class beaches and coastal resorts.

The success at WTA 2025 is a clear demonstration of the attractiveness, prestige and sustainable development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City tourism. Also at WTA 2025, Vietnam was honored in two important categories: “Asia's Leading Destination 2025” - Asia's Leading Destination (7th time) and “Asia's Leading Heritage Destination 2025” - Asia's Leading Heritage Destination (3rd time). The achievements of Ho Chi Minh City and other localities across the country contribute to raising the level of Vietnam's tourism brand - a safe, friendly, attractive and vibrant destination in the international arena.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the past 9 months, the city welcomed nearly 5.8 million international visitors and more than 29 million domestic visitors, with revenue reaching more than 184 trillion VND, approaching the annual target of 10 million international visitors and 50 million domestic visitors. These figures show the strong resilience of the tourism industry after a period of recovery, while also consolidating Ho Chi Minh City's position as a "super tourist city" at the center of the identity triangle: culture - river - modernity.
