On March 7, World Vision International in Vietnam in collaboration with ADM Company launched the project "Ensuring irrigation water sources, improving farmers' lives" in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province. The project aims to improve irrigation systems, support local farmers to increase productivity and income, thereby contributing to improving the lives of people and children in the area.
Hai Lang District is one of the localities frequently affected by natural disasters, especially severe floods in 2020 and 2022. In addition, the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic has further increased socio -economic difficulties, affecting the lives of thousands of households, especially children.
Faced with this reality, ADM has sponsored nearly 625 million VND (equivalent to 25,000 USD) to implement the project "Ensuring irrigation water sources, improving farmers' lives" for 3 months (from February to April 2025). The project is implemented by World Vision International in Vietnam with the support of Hai Lang District People's Committee and local communes.

The main objective of the project is to improve the irrigation system in Hai Truong, Hai Dinh and Hai Hung communes, supporting more than 2,300 households (equivalent to about 8,600 people), thereby creating conditions for increasing income and stabilizing life. Upgrading the irrigation system not only helps increase crop productivity but also brings economic opportunities to households, especially parents with young children. It is estimated that the project will indirectly improve the lives of more than 2,000 children in the area.

The "Ensuring irrigation water sources, improving farmers' lives" project is part of ADM's ADM Cares social investment program, continuing the sustainable livelihood support initiatives that the group has implemented in Vietnam in recent years. In 2022 and 2024, ADM funded the "Sustainable livelihoods for farmers" and "Supporting sustainable livelihoods for farmers towards the circular economy" projects in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces. These projects have played an important role in community development, especially in improving the lives of children. |
