DTO - On the afternoon of February 28, Lai Vung District People's Committee solemnly held a ceremony to announce Long Thang commune meeting advanced new rural standards (NTM) in 2024. Attending were comrades: Dinh Van Dung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Pham Van Hoa - Member of the National Assembly's Law Committee, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Lawyers Association; along with leaders of provincial departments, branches, District Party Committee, Lai Vung District People's Committee and local people.
Comrade Dinh Van Dung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee awarded the Certificate of Recognition of Long Thang commune meeting advanced NTM standards in 2024 to the leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Long Thang commune.
Long Thang is an eastern commune of Lai Vung district with a total natural land area of nearly 3,115 hectares, of which the agricultural production area is over 2,693 hectares. The commune has implemented the Advanced New Rural Construction Program with many difficulties, challenges, and pressures on both resources and policy mechanisms. However, after a period of effort and struggle with the intelligence and combined strength of the Party Committee, government, and people, the commune has now achieved the standards of an Advanced New Rural Commune.
Implementing the Advanced New Rural Development Program, the role of Party organizations, authorities, and socio-political organizations has been promoted well; security and social order have been maintained. Along with that, the rate of trained workers in the commune has reached over 79%; the multidimensional poverty rate in 2024 is 2.39%; the average income in 2024 is over 72 million VND/person/year.
Currently, the commune has 2 cooperatives in the agricultural sector operating effectively in the field of water pumping for production and services of sowing, spraying, and spreading fertilizer by plane. The whole commune has 100% of households using clean water according to the standards of the Ministry of Health; 100% of production facilities comply with environmental and waste regulations; sources of hazardous waste in the area are collected and treated as required, reaching a rate of 100%; the total rate of people collecting and treating waste in accordance with regulations is 95%...
On this occasion, many individuals and collectives with achievements in building Long Thang commune to meet advanced NTM standards were commended and rewarded by the Provincial, District and Commune People's Committees...
