My Thien Commune: Military and national defense work has achieved many positive results.

Over the past period, military and national defense work in My Thien commune has always received close attention and guidance from the local Party committee and government. Thanks to the synchronized implementation of many key tasks, the commune has achieved many positive results, contributing to maintaining political stability and creating a foundation for socio-economic development.

The Commune Military Command regularly advises the Commune Party Committee and People's Committee on issuing documents, resolutions, and plans appropriate to the actual situation. Consolidation and development of the militia and reserve forces are given attention, ensuring combat readiness in all situations.

The commune's Military Command, in coordination with various departments, agencies, and organizations, is stepping up the dissemination and education of national defense and security knowledge; effectively implementing the Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces, the Law on Military Service, and related directives; and simultaneously organizing training in national defense and security knowledge for eligible individuals in accordance with regulations.

The management of reserve soldiers is carried out strictly, with proper staffing and ensuring sufficient quantity and quality. The selection and recruitment of citizens for military service is conducted seriously according to the motto "Fair, democratic, transparent, and lawful."

The commune has implemented a comprehensive approach, from initial military service registration to preliminary medical examinations, selection processes, and finalizing the annual troop numbers. In 2025, My Thien commune achieved its target of 26 out of 26 citizens enlisting in the military. From July 2025 to the present, the commune has sent 9 individuals to participate in national defense and security knowledge training, achieving 100% of the target.

In the work of building the militia force, the Party committee and the commune government have always provided close guidance. Legal regulations have been fully implemented, and the political quality and combat readiness of the militia force have continued to improve.

The commune ensures meals and pays daily allowances to the forces on combat readiness duty and participating in training.

In 2025, the commune will consider demobilizing 44 militia members who have completed their duties and recruit 51 new militia members, bringing the total to 201, reaching 0.73% of the population. The militia force achieved 100% of its target in live-fire exercises; actively participated in competitions for innovative ideas and improvements to teaching aids; and effectively carried out tasks related to disaster prevention, rescue, and assistance to the people in overcoming damage caused by storms and tidal surges.

The commune's Military Command also closely coordinates with the commune's police to organize patrols and guard duties, maintaining security and order in the hamlets; checking civil registration and household registration; and ensuring security during holidays, festivals, and major local events.

The forces also participate in clearing traffic safety corridors, restoring urban order, and promoting a cultured lifestyle among the people. In mass mobilization work, the militia forces play a core role, mobilizing the people to donate land and labor for the construction of new rural areas, thereby raising the awareness and responsibility of cadres, Party members, and the people regarding national defense and military affairs in the new situation.

In the coming period, the commune will continue to strengthen national defense and security education, consolidate the militia force to be strong in politics and professional skills; and at the same time improve the quality of training and combat readiness, contributing to ensuring political security and social order in the area.”
