Quyet Thang is a commune in Region III, located 23 km from the center of Huu Lung district. The commune has 8 villages and 1,141 households with Kinh, Tay, Nung, Dao, Thai, Cao Lan ethnic groups... living together. The economy of the people in the commune mainly depends on agricultural and forestry production. By the end of 2023, the commune has achieved 9/19 NTM criteria.
In 2024, Quyet Thang commune was selected as a pilot commune striving to meet the new rural standards. To achieve the set goals, in addition to the State's investment resources (the budget support capital is nearly 34.5 billion VND), Quyet Thang Commune People's Committee has coordinated with relevant agencies to promote propaganda and mobilize people's cooperation and contribution. Thereby, people in the commune contributed nearly 5.5 billion VND, 2,000 laborers, and donated 2,500 m2 of land to join hands to implement the criteria of traffic, irrigation, cultural facilities, environment, etc.
The State's investment resources and the people's joint efforts have contributed significantly to the results of implementing the new rural criteria. Up to now, 100% of commune roads, over 82% of village roads and over 77% of alleys have been concreted; nearly 34 km of irrigation canals have been reinforced; 100% of households have regular and safe access to electricity; schools, cultural houses, markets, etc. have been invested in and built, creating favorable conditions for people's daily life and production development.
In addition, the People's Committee of the commune has oriented, propagated, and supported people to build effective production development models such as growing melons, macadamia nuts, and canarium; people actively join hands to preserve the green-clean-beautiful landscape and environment... By the end of 2024, the commune will be recognized as a commune that meets NTM standards.
Entering 2025, Quyet Thang commune will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize the joint efforts of people as well as other resources to continue to maintain, consolidate and improve the quality of the achieved NTM criteria; promote production development, increase income for people; build a bright - green - clean - beautiful landscape of village roads and alleys; gradually implement the criteria of advanced NTM communes, model NTM communes...
On this occasion, collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building new rural areas in Quyet Thang commune received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Lung district; and certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quyet Thang commune.
