Shooting at US bar, at least three people dead

A shooting occurred at a bar in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, leaving at least three people dead and two injured.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at about 1:25 a.m. on May 21 at the Klymax bar on Indiana Avenue and found multiple victims at the scene, said Officer Donna Drake of the Kansas City Police Department.

One victim was found dead inside the bar, a second victim was outside the building and a third died on the way to hospital.

Two injured victims were also taken to hospital, one in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

Police said the victims were all adults but did not release their ages or identities. The suspect in the shooting is not yet known. Detectives are at the scene and are seeking witnesses.

The United States has the highest gun death rate in the developed world , with about 49,000 deaths in 2021. This year, the United States has recorded more than 195 shootings with more than four victims each, according to statistics from the Gun Violence Archive.
