In the match between LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai I and Ho Chi Minh City, the slippery field due to heavy rain made it difficult for both teams to play the ball.
Although LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai I controlled the game and created more chances, the strikers lacked precision in finishing. After 90 minutes with a score of 0-0, Ho Chi Minh City played more confidently in the penalty shootout and won 4-2, thereby entering the semi-finals.
The quarter-final match between Hanoi and SHB Da Nang also took place with a tense atmosphere. Both teams had dangerous attacks but failed to capitalize on them. After a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes, Hanoi defeated SHB Da Nang 5-4 on penalties to advance.
In the match between PVF and Song Lam Nghe An, the two teams played an exciting match. PVF opened the scoring in the 15th minute after Hoang Anh scored. However, with a resilient spirit, Song Lam Nghe An equalized 1-1 in the last minute after a shot by Trong Tuan. Entering the penalty shootout, PVF performed better and won 5-3.
The remaining match between The Cong Viettel and PVF-Cong An Nhan Dan witnessed the remarkable efforts of the young team from PVF-Cong An Nhan Dan. Despite being forced to play most of the time, the young players still played with focus and kept a clean sheet after 90 minutes of play.
In the penalty shootout, The Cong Viettel proved their mettle to win 5-4, becoming the last team to reach the semi-finals.
