Champions League 2023/24 Groups
Another group worth watching is Group A, which will see an exciting clash between Bayern Munich and Man Utd. The other two teams in the group are Copenhagen and Galatasaray. Champions League holders Man City are in Group G, where they are paired with a German team (Leipzig), but the other two teams are completely inferior: Crvena Zvezda (Serbia) and Young Boys (Switzerland).
In Group C, Real Madrid and Napoli are considered to be superior in class to Braga and Union Berlin. Meanwhile, Barcelona are in Group H with Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp. Group D also promises to be unpredictable, when runners-up Inter meet Benfica, Salzburg and Sociedad.
The opening round of the 2023-24 Champions League group stage is scheduled to begin on September 19-20. The matches will take place in the middle of the week, including 6 matches, with 4 teams in the same group playing in a double round-robin format. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage. Meanwhile, the third-placed teams in each group will be relegated to the UEFA Europa League.
The first legs of the first knockout round will be played in February 2024 (14, 15, 21, 22) and the second legs in March (6, 7, 13, 14). The quarter-finals will be played on April 10 and 11, with the second legs on April 17 and 18. The semi-finals will be played on May 1 and 2, with the second legs on May 8 and 9. The Champions League final this season will be held at Wembley Stadium (London, England) on June 2, 2024.
