The 2024 Copa America will feature 16 teams, including 10 from South America and six from CONCACAF (North, Central America and the Caribbean). This is the second time in history that the United States has hosted the Copa America, after 2016, and both times there will be 16 teams. The United States, Canada and Mexico will also co-host the 2026 World Cup.

The opening match of Copa America 2024 on June 20 will be held at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the home of MLS club Atlanta United and NFL team Atlanta Falcons.
Mercedes Benz Stadium has a capacity of 71,000 spectators and has hosted famous sporting events in the US such as the Super Bowl final, or the American football playoff at the 2018 college championship.
The Mercedes Benz Stadium currently has an artificial turf pitch, but will switch to natural grass from the summer of 2024 when the Copa America is about to start.
Meanwhile, the Copa America 2024 final on July 14 has also been confirmed by CONMEBOL, with the venue being the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. This 65,300-seat stadium is home to the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. It also hosts college football games, including the University of Miami, the Orange Blossom Classic and the Orange Bowl.

If Argentina reaches the final of Copa America 2024, Messi will be considered to be playing at home, because he is supported by Inter Miami fans here.
Copa America 2024 currently has 10 teams from CONMEBOL: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela. 6 teams from CONCACAF, with the US team already having a spot as the host team. The remaining teams are determined through the CONCACAF Nations League playing in November, with 3 main spots and 2 play-off spots.
