Building a technology ecosystem in universities

Universities in the city are updating their training programs towards integrating artificial intelligence (AI), helping students adapt quickly to new technology, have solid expertise before graduation, and have flexible digital skills.

Digital- based training

Universities in Da Nang are gradually innovating their approach, training and use of AI to bring information to students, in line with current technology trends. Recently, the University of Economics (Danang University) signed a memorandum of understanding with ATM Consulting and Management Company Limited (ATM Academy) on the implementation and application of AI integration in hotel vocational training.

According to Mr. Tran Xuan Moi, Director of ATM Academy, spreading the vocational training model based on a digital platform built and operated by businesses is an important step to help bring AI into practical training. This approach helps learners proactively improve their skills according to business standards in the industry.

Currently, the company supports the school in applying an online tourism training platform with 4 positions: reception, housekeeping, restaurant and hotel security. Students can proactively study anytime, anywhere with the support of AI and a team of experts, contributing to improving the quality of tourism human resource training to meet the trends and practical recruitment needs of businesses.

Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Principal of the University of Economics (University of Danang) said that in the new trend, the fields of economics, finance and management are increasingly digitized, the training program must respond to this change. Therefore, the school strives to increase the proportion of technology credits in fields with high application levels.

By quickly adapting and innovating teaching methods, applying advanced teaching models; implementing a learning method that combines direct classroom teaching and online learning (Blended Learning) through the Study-Arts platform, helping students be more flexible in accessing knowledge and optimizing the use of digital resources such as video lectures, electronic learning materials, etc.

Similarly, Duy Tan University also teaches and trains artificial intelligence (AI) skills and entrepreneurship knowledge for undergraduate students from the 2025-2026 school year. Students must study 3 compulsory AI credits, specialized depending on the training major, suitable for each field of study.

The goal is not only to help students understand AI but also to make AI an indispensable part of students' career thinking. To keep up with the trend in the digital age, Duy Tan University determines not only to teach AI as a regular subject but also to build AI capacity as a core foundation, helping students adapt, innovate and apply it most effectively in the digital age.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (University of Danang) also has an early strategic orientation in training and researching digital technology and AI. Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, Principal of the school, said that the Artificial Intelligence Engineering major, which will be enrolled by the school from 2021, attracts about 1,000 students each year.

With a comprehensive internationalization orientation, the school focuses on linking training with global trends and labor market needs, helping students prepare to integrate into the global environment right from their school days.

Students apply effectively

Thanks to being ahead of the trend, many university students have achieved high results in major competitions such as the 2025 Artificial Intelligence Design Competition for Da Nang City Youth with the theme "AI Innovation Challenge - Building Community", students of the Faculty of Finance, University of Economics (University of Da Nang) excellently won the first prize with the project named Finsent, a group of students using a breakthrough AI solution in the field of digital finance.

Or at the 5th "Technology Startup for Students" contest in 2025, many topics in fields such as manufacturing and renewable energy; artificial intelligence (AI), big data (Big Data), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT) ... were also implemented by students and many topics won high prizes such as the project "Multi-layer AI system to support and protect cyberspace" by a group of students from the Vietnam-Korea University of Information Technology and Communications (University of Danang) won the first prize; the project "Respir AI" by a group of students from the University of Science and Technology and the University of Economics (University of Danang) won the second prize.

Tran Viet Gia Bao, a member of the group "Multi-layer AI system to support and protect cyberspace", said that the project provides a comprehensive solution, combining a multi-layer artificial intelligence system to detect, warn and prevent gambling, fake and fraudulent websites. At the same time, it provides a domain name evaluation system for agencies and organizations to support the review and monitoring of domain names, contributing to building a safe and trustworthy Vietnamese internet environment, where users and organizations are protected from risks in cyberspace; supporting users to identify potentially risky websites...

Gia Bao believes that thanks to the support of teachers as well as early access to AI in the classroom, the research time of group members has more multidimensional perspectives in the field of AI application. This helps students consolidate their professional foundation, expand interdisciplinary thinking, helping products become more complete and highly applicable.
