Construction of AEON Hai Duong Trade Center with investment capital of 1,180 billion VND

This is one of 80 key projects that were simultaneously started on the morning of April 19 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Naoki Ito, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, said: Vietnam is focusing on reviving the private economy , aiming to increase the proportion of the private sector in GDP to 70% by 2030. AEON's business activities and economic activities created by customers at AEON Group stores are economic activities of the private sector.

This project shows the expansion of AEON Vietnam’s business activities. I hope that reforms towards a new era will improve Vietnam’s investment environment in the future, especially Hai Duong province will have an even better investment environment,” Mr. Naoki Ito emphasized.

AEON Hai Duong is the first medium-sized community shopping mall developed by AEON Vietnam in the Northern region, with a total area of ​​about 3.6 hectares, with a total investment of about 1,180 billion VND, located in Lien Hong commune and Thach Khoi ward (Hai Duong city). Aeon Vietnam Co., Ltd. is the project investor. AEON Hai Duong is expected to come into operation in 2026.

The project has a scale of 3 floors, in which the 1st and 2nd floors each have an area of ​​over 16,000m2, arranged for lobby space, commercial service space. The 3rd floor is over 4,100m2, arranged for lobby space, cinema area, rooftop parking lot, technical system, stairs, elevators and other supporting rooms.

According to the design, AEON Hai Duong Shopping Center has a soft architecture, inspired by the image of a silk strip, including a supermarket selling and distributing about 5,000 products, along with about 150 booths for rent to do business in entertainment, food and beverage, fashion and jewelry services.

Also on the morning of April 19, the groundbreaking ceremony of the investment project to build provincial road 394B, Hai Duong province (the section connecting provincial road 395 to the North-South axis, Thanh Mien district). The project investor is the Hai Duong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board. The project has a total route length of 6.723 km with a total investment of over 1,200 billion VND. The location is in Binh Giang and Thanh Mien districts, Hai Duong province.

Along with that is the Technical Opening Ceremony of the East-West Axis Road Construction Investment Project in Hai Duong Province. The project is invested by the Hai Duong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board. The project has a total route length of 36.493 km through the districts of Binh Giang, Thanh Mien, Ninh Giang, Tu Ky, Thanh Ha, Hai Duong Province. The project has a total investment of over 1,700 billion VND.

Previously, Mr. Le Ngoc Chau, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with AEON Group Japan and the working delegation to discuss the project of building AEON Trade Center in Hai Duong.

Mr. Le Ngoc Chau said that although the project was delayed by about a month due to objective reasons, the project has now met all the conditions to start construction.

Therefore, the Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requested AEON Vietnam to focus on human resources, machinery, equipment, and project construction organization to compensate for the delay, striving to put the project into operation on schedule in 2026.
