Building houses for people after storms: Gia Lai Front joins hands for 56 households

The program to support house building for people after storms is being urgently implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province, with the goal of helping 56 households whose houses collapsed to stabilize their lives soon, in time to celebrate Tet in their new homes.

On November 27, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province announced that, before the 1st Provincial Fatherland Front Congress (taking place on December 3-4), the program to support house building for people after storms and floods was urgently implemented.

Mr. Siu Trung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province, said that the provincial Front is supporting the construction of 56 houses for households whose houses collapsed due to storm No. 13 and the recent floods.

Each house is supported with 60 million VND, disbursed in two installments to ensure progress and quality. Accordingly, after the commune and ward authorities have a proposal, 50% of the support money will be disbursed; when the house is completed and accepted, the remaining 50% will be disbursed.

Many organizations and individuals support people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods through the channel of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province.

"The support for building houses after the storm must be implemented immediately and on schedule so that people have a place to live before Tet. In addition to the support of 60 million VND, the Front system also mobilizes working days and calls for more necessities and essential items to support people," Mr. Siu Trung emphasized.

In 2025, responding to the movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province and socio -political organizations organized the construction and repair of 12,520 houses (of which 9,106 were newly built and 3,414 were repaired), with a total cost of more than VND 807 billion, contributing to improving sustainable housing for people.

In parallel with supporting the construction of houses for the people, the Fatherland Front at all levels also mobilized more than 65 billion VND for the "For the Poor" Fund, built 792 new "Great Solidarity" houses, repaired 76 houses, supported production capital, provided medical examination and treatment, and gave Tet gifts. Emergency support activities were also widely deployed, from contributing 819 million VND to build houses for poor households in Dien Bien to calling for more than 72.5 billion VND to support the people of the North affected by storm No. 3...

The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Gia Lai province (term 2025 - 2030) will take place from December 3 - 4 at the Provincial Convention Center (Quy Nhon Ward), with the participation of 300 official delegates and 100 guests.

The congress discussed the theme: "Enhancing the core political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; promoting cultural identity and the strength of national solidarity; arousing the will of self-reliance, the spirit of innovation, creativity and the desire to contribute, joining hands to build Gia Lai into a fairly developed province of the country".

During the 2025 - 2030 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province set many goals, including mobilizing at least 400 billion VND each year for social security programs; the "For the Poor" Fund alone strives to reach 150 billion VND, thereby expanding resources to care for people's lives, especially those in difficult areas.
