The location of the Ukrainian tank was transmitted to neighboring units and Russian airborne troops shot down the armored vehicle with anti-tank guided missiles.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on October 20 that it had counted the Ukrainian targets destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation, including: 500 aircraft, 252 helicopters, 8,104 drones, 441 surface-to-air missile systems, 12,778 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,165 multiple rocket launchers, 6,837 field guns and mortars, and 14,462 specialized military vehicles.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry also announced on October 20 that Russia has lost more than 5,000 tanks since the beginning of the conflict.
Moscow and Kiev often quote each other's loss figures, but these claims cannot be verified.
The Russia-Ukraine war continues to be tense on both the Eastern and Southern fronts. In the East, the Ukrainian army said that Russia has continuously sent reinforcements to attack and besiege the strategic city of Avdiivka in Donetsk province.
