On the morning of November 18 in Vientiane, head coach Kim Sang-sik and captain Do Duy Manh attended a press conference before the match between Laos and Vietnam, in the second leg of the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers. Mr. Kim Sang Sik affirmed that the only goal is still three points.
“Although we have an important match against Malaysia in March next year in the race for a ticket to the Asian Cup finals, the team must win tomorrow’s match first. A win will create excitement and good spirit for the next stage,” said coach Kim Sang-sik.

Sharing about the possibility of striker Nguyen Xuan Son playing after recovering from injury, coach Kim Sang-sik shared: "First of all, I am very happy that Son is back. I want to thank my family and everyone who has supported Son for a long time.
I also thank Nam Dinh FC for their efforts to overcome the difficult period without Son. For the national team, his return gives us another quality option. I hope tomorrow Son will have the opportunity to score and leave his mark.”

Coach Kim Sang-sik further emphasized the significance of the final match in 2025 for the Vietnamese team: “This is an important match to end this year on a good note. We have prepared well and the players are in stable form. The team's goal is to play confidently and win.”
The Vietnamese team currently has 9 points after four matches and is ranked second in Group F. The match against Laos is considered an important stepping stone for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team to maintain their advantage before entering the decisive match against Malaysia in March 2026.
The match between Laos and Vietnam will take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 19 at Laos National Stadium.
