(NADS) - Recently, a coffee shop with a "blind date" model in Ho Chi Minh City has caused a strong boycott wave on social networks such as TikTok and Facebook. Netizens continuously share and warn about the potential dangers in this coffee model, especially for women.
According to the cafe's self-promotion, this is a place for customers to participate in "blind dates". Male and female customers are divided into two different rooms: men in the black room and women in the white room. They cannot see each other and have 5 minutes to chat to decide on a match. However, information from warning posts by netizens has pointed out many "scary" and even "disguised" points of this way of operating.
A post on Facebook said that the glass separating the two rooms is actually one-way glass, allowing men to see women but not vice versa. The posted image of the restaurant clearly shows this. More notably, the seats in the women's room are higher than the seats in the men's room, so if the women accidentally move freely, the other side will see all their sensitive areas without them knowing.
In addition, the article also accused this coffee shop of offering free admission and free drinks to female customers, a questionable trick to attract female customers because female customers almost don't have to pay anything to come to the shop.
In response to the outrage and widespread calls for a boycott from netizens, the shop has temporarily hidden clips and advertising content about this "blind date" coffee model on its social media accounts. At the same time, it has temporarily closed its doors so that authorities can work inside.
Photography & Life has contacted this business to learn more details about the incident and will update as soon as possible.
