Touching art program 'Sacred Land of Dong Loc'

The program aims to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Dong Loc Victory, the 55th anniversary of the sacrifice of 10 female youth volunteers (TNXP) at Dong Loc T-junction (July 24, 1968 - July 24, 2023), the 55th anniversary of the K130 Village Achievement (August 13, 1968 - August 13, 2023), and the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023).

The art program is an opportunity to review the heroic tradition, fighting and sacrifice of the forces on the Dong Loc battlefield.

Ha Tinh Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung delivered the opening speech at the program.

He also affirmed that the sacrifice of 10 female Youth Volunteers, the self-sacrifice of cadres, soldiers and people of all forces at the Dong Loc battlefield; the spirit of "no regrets for the house before the car has passed" of Village K130 and the feats of the 8th Air Defense Battalion of the local army and the immortal landmarks are beautiful symbols of revolutionary heroism, expressing the desire for peace of every Vietnamese person, demonstrating the Party's will and the people's hearts, encouraging our entire army and people to defeat the invaders.

“ Promoting the rich culture and glorious revolutionary tradition of the homeland, in the renovation process, the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Tinh have strived to overcome all difficulties and constantly strive for development. Speaking at the program, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that during the resistance war against the US to save the country, Ha Tinh was both the rear base of the great front line in the South and the front line of the great rear base in the North. With its special geographical location, being an important "traffic chokepoint" on the vital Truong Son road, Dong Loc T-junction became a strategic battle point, where the confrontation between the indomitable will of our army and people and the destructive power of modern weapons of war of the invading imperialists took place.

Tens of thousands of cadres, soldiers, Youth Volunteers and other forces were intelligent, creative, resilient, both fighting and opening the way to support the southern battlefield. That fierce war took away thousands of the country's best children, especially the heroic sacrifice of 10 female Youth Volunteers, only 18 or 20 years old, of Squad 4, Company 552, who were the embodiment of the heroic and indomitable tradition of Vietnamese women, creating a legendary Dong Loc, the pinnacle of the people's war.

The sacrifices of you, of the 10 heroic flowers at Dong Loc T-junction, together with the bloody exploits of heroes and martyrs from all over the country and the patriotism and wholehearted devotion to the Party and the revolution of our people have created glorious feats, so that many names and places on this S-shaped land have become historical revolutionary relics, so that future generations will always remember, be grateful and continue.

Promoting the glorious revolutionary tradition of the homeland, Ha Tinh is making strong changes. From a province with many difficulties and a low starting point, Ha Tinh has risen to be among the leading provinces in the North Central region. This is also a practical way to show gratitude to the contributions of those who went before and meet the expectations of the people.

The Vice President hopes that in the coming time, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Ha Tinh province will continue to do a better job of "repaying gratitude", taking care of people who have contributed to the revolution; investing in developing old battlefields and difficult areas. Continuing to promote the cultural, heroic and revolutionary traditions of the homeland, arousing the will and aspirations of the people of Ha Tinh; continuing to write miracles of Hong Mountain - La River in the new era.

The Vice President also highly appreciated Nhan Dan Newspaper for initiating and persistently organizing many social activities of profound humanistic significance, aiming to arouse and revive historical events of the nation, in which the Art Program "Dong Loc Sacred Land" is a practical activity demonstrating the nation's morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", the sentiment and responsibility of today's generation to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Vice President believes that today's young generation will continue to write the glorious pages of the Ho Chi Minh era, contributing to realizing the aspiration of building a prosperous and happy Vietnam.

Art program reenacts the heroic Dong Loc T-junction and the heroic sacrifice of 10 female Youth Volunteers

The program "Sacred Land of Dong Loc - Connecting the Thousand-Year Line" is an opportunity to review the heroic tradition, the heroic fighting and sacrifice of the forces on the Dong Loc battlefield; at the same time, to express deep gratitude for the great contributions of the heroes, martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, former Youth Volunteers, frontline laborers, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution, cadres, soldiers and people who fought, contributed and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

The art program consists of 3 chapters: "The car has not passed the house, no regret"; "Blood can be shed, the road cannot be blocked"; "The new road is vast". In which, chapter I recreates the feat of Village K130 with the heroic song "The car has not passed, the house is no regret"; chapter II is stories about a heroic fighting time, about the sacrifice of 10 female Youth Volunteers at Dong Loc T-junction; chapter III is the image of Ha Tinh entering the period of innovation with all classes of people enthusiastically working, increasing production, joining hands to build and develop their homeland.

The art program is elaborately staged with outstanding plays.

The art program "Dong Loc Sacred Land - connecting thousands of years" recreates the once heroic Dong Loc T-junction and the heroic sacrifice of 10 female Youth Volunteers; reflecting the efforts and overcoming difficulties of the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Tinh in the cause of building and developing the homeland and the country.

The art program was elaborately staged with plays, songs, and unique, touching dances performed by hundreds of professional and non-professional artists, singers, and actors from all over the country, leaving many emotions and deep impressions in the hearts of the audience. It was an opportunity to contribute to educating revolutionary traditions and cultural traditions for all classes of people.

Vice President and delegates offer incense at Dong Loc T-junction Relic Site

Before the art program, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and delegates from the Central agencies and Ha Tinh province offered incense at the Dong Loc T-junction relic site. Here, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the delegation expressed their respect and gratitude for the heroic sacrifices of the martyrs for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

With the plot to turn Dong Loc T-junction into a "death coordinate", blocking the support of the rear for the front line, from April to October 1968, the US Air Force bombed this place nearly 1,900 times, dropping more than 50,000 bombs of all kinds. It turns out that each square meter of land at Dong Loc T-junction had to bear 3 blockbuster bombs. Representing the fighting spirit and sacrifice at the "death coordinate" Dong Loc T-junction are the heroic examples of 10 female Youth Volunteers of Squad 4, Company 552, Youth Volunteers of Ha Tinh 55. They were forever left here on July 24, 1968, when they were only eighteen or twenty years old, when "The day the bombs buried their hair and their ears in the dirt/ They lay in the grave, their hair had not yet been washed" (Vuong Trong).
