13 valedictorians of grade 10, 11 students admitted to Hanoi - Amsterdam High School

(Dan Tri) - The 2025 entrance exam to grade 10 of Hanoi High School for the Gifted has 13 valedictorians, of which 11 students passed the entrance exam to Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

The remaining two valedictorians were admitted to Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted and Chu Van An High School for the Gifted.

Hanoi currently has 4 specialized schools: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School for the Gifted and Son Tay High School. Each school has from 9 to 13 specialized blocks.

This year, 4 specialized schools in Hanoi were assigned 2,730 quotas and 78 classes. Compared to 2024, the number of classes decreased by 4 and the number of quotas decreased by 240.

The reason is that Chu Van An and Son Tay schools had to eliminate 14 non-specialized classes. Son Tay school alone had to eliminate the French class. At the same time, Chu Van An and Hanoi - Amsterdam schools eliminated 4 dual baccalaureate classes.

In addition, Hanoi also has 4 specialized schools under universities. Hanoi National University has 3 specialized schools including: High School for Natural Sciences under the University of Natural Sciences; High School for Social Sciences and Humanities under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; High School for Foreign Languages under the University of Foreign Languages.

Hanoi National University of Education has 1 specialized school, Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted.

How to enroll in 8 specialized schools in Hanoi as follows:

The group of schools under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will take the same exam on the same day, with the same questions throughout the city. Only candidates with Hanoi household registration (or parents or guardians with Hanoi household registration) will be allowed to take this exam.

Candidates for specialized schools under the Department must take the general entrance exam for public grade 10 and take an additional specialized subject exam on the day after the general exam.

Groups of specialized schools affiliated with universities hold their own exams on different days, allowing candidates to take exams at many specialized schools. The admission target is students nationwide.
