The training session was divided into 5 classes with 193 trainees who are officers in charge of environmental sanitation programs at commune and ward levels of the Medical Centers in the following areas: Vi Xuyen, Bac Me, Bac Quang, Quang Binh, Xin Man, Dong Van, Ha Giang , Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Hoang Su Phi and Meo Vac.
At the training course, trainees were provided with an overview of the impact of climate change on human health; infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, accidents and injuries, and emerging health risks caused by extreme weather and natural disasters; how to develop an action plan to respond to climate change in the local health sector; and measures to enhance adaptive capacity.
At the same time, share practical experiences in epidemiological surveillance, disaster risk management, ensuring water safety, environmental sanitation and maintaining essential health services in the context of increasingly complex climate change.
The training course helps health workers at the grassroots level improve their risk assessment capacity, proactively implement disease prevention and control activities and protect people's health. Thereby, contributing to the implementation of the sustainable development goals of the health sector in the context of rapidly changing climate.
