The event is part of the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) organized by the US Mission in Vietnam in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Institute of International Education (IIE) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US.

15 Vietnamese universities in the region from Da Nang and below include: Da Nang University, Nha Trang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences , International University, University of Information Technology, An Giang University, Saigon International University, Dong A University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Hong Bang International University, Lac Hong University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Vietnam-Germany University, Can Tho University.

Representatives of 21 universities in the US came to Vietnam including: Colorado State University; Duke University; North Carolina A&T State University; Ohio University; Oklahoma State University; Orange Coast College; Oregon State University; Rutgers University; Stanford University; The University of Tulsa; Towson University; University of Alabama; University of Cincinnati; University of Connecticut; University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; University of Kentucky; University of Massachusetts Amherst; University of Nebraska–Lincoln; University of Vermont; University of Wyoming; Washington University in St. Louis.

Universities from both countries will meet to discuss their visions and cooperation strategies and seek opportunities to implement joint training programs, scientific research, and student and faculty exchanges. International cooperation experts will share information and experience to help Vietnamese universities orient their effective cooperation plans.

Mr. Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, said that the school wishes to move towards extensive cooperation in training, research, and student exchange with many major universities in the US, expanding opportunities for students to choose from a variety of training programs and access advanced knowledge right at the school. On the other hand, this is also a new and promising opportunity for students to step out into the world and conquer the labor market in the new context.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Khac Cuong - Vice Principal of Hong Bang International University, the school is committed to building practical, long-term cooperation models with American universities, especially in training high-quality human resources and applied research.

Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Education and Training) Nguyen Tien Dung acknowledged that one of the major challenges facing Vietnamese higher education today is the issue of quality.

Mr. Dung hopes that this will not only open up opportunities to promote international factors in universities in Vietnam, but also contribute to improving training quality, management efficiency and operational capacity, while promoting the global integration process. Schools will have a detailed cooperation plan. The Ministry of Education and Training always listens to difficulties and problems from higher education institutions, coordinates with relevant agencies to find appropriate and effective solutions.
