On the evening of May 1, Mr. Pham Ngoc Lan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mo Duc district ( Quang Ngai ) confirmed that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, leaving 3 students missing.
Initial information, at around 4:30 pm this afternoon, a group of 4 students from Mo Duc and Ba To districts invited each other to go to Tan Dinh village beach (Duc Loi commune, Mo Duc district) to swim when they were suddenly swept away by a large wave.
At this time, a local fisherman discovered the incident and sent a boat to rescue. However, he was only able to save one student, the remaining three students were swept away by the waves and went missing.

Among the three missing students are two siblings: Le Minh K. (born in 2009), Le Bao L. (born in 2012, both residing in Duc Nhuan commune, Mo Duc district) and Do Minh Th. (born in 2011, residing in Ba To town, Ba To district).
As of 8:40 p.m. on May 1, authorities and local residents were trying to find the victims. However, due to darkness and low sea levels, the search was difficult.
