Specifically, on February 9 (the 30th day of the Lunar New Year), Can Tho International Airport welcomed 21 flights with more than 2,937 passengers, an increase of more than 75% over the same period. Of which, there was one international flight with 120 passengers, an increase of more than 58% over the same period.
Passengers passing through Can Tho airport increased in the last days of the year.
On February 8 (29th of Lunar New Year), flights increased by more than 82% compared to the same period last year, carrying more than 3,670 passengers, an increase of 87% compared to the same period last year. Notably, on this day there were three international flights carrying more than 400 passengers, an increase of 263%.
Can Tho City Department of Transport said that in addition to aviation, other types of passenger transport also increased in the past two days.
On the 30th of Tet alone, in the road sector, fixed-route passenger transport transported more than 9,500 passengers (up 17%); buses transported more than 2,600 passengers (up 29%) over the same period.
Regarding waterways, fixed-route passengers increased by 75%; passengers passing through ports managed by the Inland Waterways Port Authority of Region IV increased by more than 93% compared to 2023.
"On February 8-9, passenger transport activities in Can Tho city were stable. The number of water and land vehicles was sufficient to serve passengers. In addition, units also have plans to increase trips during peak days and hours.
Passengers traveling at bus and train stations are always guaranteed traffic safety. Traffic order and safety at ports and wharves are maintained stably," said the Can Tho City Department of Transport.
