At the end of 1975, the newspaper “Long Chau Ha” changed its name to An Giang Newspaper and the Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee chose August 19, 1975 as the founding date of the newspaper. Since then, nearly 50 years, despite the small number of staff and limited budget, the staff and reporters of An Giang Newspaper have strived to achieve many outstanding achievements in information and propaganda, worthy of the position of the mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee.
Editor-in-Chief of An Giang Newspaper Tran Thi Bich Van shared that from the beginning, An Giang Newspaper printed 4 pages in black and white, published 1 issue/month, progressed to 8 pages with 2 issues/week; continued to increase to 12 pages, including 4 pages in color. From the beginning of April 2002, An Giang Newspaper increased the publication period from 2 to 3 issues/week, innovated the content and form, by November 2007, increased to 4 issues and by April 2009, increased to 5 issues/week of the Party newspaper to readers.
More excitingly, An Giang Newspaper reaches 100% of communes, wards, towns and branches, Party Committees and a large number of good farmers in the province, contributing to the provision of daily life and production. Growing with the nation, entering the digital age, on May 19, 2008, An Giang Electronic Newspaper was launched, marking a new development step of the Party newspaper in the era of information explosion, digital technology with continuous improvement, so the average number of visits is 1 million/month.

Along with the development of the province, the team of journalists of An Giang Newspaper always demonstrates a sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, and timely information and propaganda in all areas of social life. Promoting the role of an effective bridge between the Party, the government and the people, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the province and promptly reflecting all developments in social life, contributing to orienting public opinion.

Editor-in-Chief of An Giang Newspaper Tran Thi Bich Van said that currently, An Giang Newspaper has 40 cadres, reporters, and employees, most of whom are young reporters; the professional qualifications of reporters, editors, and technicians are standardized, meeting the requirements of the province's propaganda tasks in the digital age. In the process of developing and implementing assigned political tasks, An Giang Newspaper always maintains the orientation of propagating accurate information, not following trends, reporting sensational news, and attracting readers. Therefore, in the context of a series of newspapers and magazines nationwide being reminded or disciplined for reporting inaccurate news, and some reporters being negative in their journalism activities, An Giang Newspaper is one of the press agencies that properly implements the principles, purposes, and performs well the political tasks of a Party newspaper.
At each time, the An Giang Newspaper's journalists are always flexible in building specific, practical propaganda plans, close to the current political, economic - social, national defense - security situation. Thanks to that, reporters have intermediate political qualifications and participate in training courses on print and electronic journalism, better meeting the tasks set out in the innovation process. In particular, many reporters and many press works have won national awards, writing about protecting the Party's ideological foundation, the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award... launched by the Central. Every year, many members and reporters of An Giang Newspaper are awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and the Provincial Journalists Association. Along with professional activities, An Giang Newspaper actively implements community-oriented activities, in which the An Giang Newspaper Social - Charity Fund receives contributions of more than 1 billion VND/year, supporting hundreds of people with difficult lives, illnesses...
