55th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Former Youth Volunteer Unit Against America to Save the Country N237

In the exciting atmosphere towards the 49th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), hundreds of cadres and soldiers of former Youth Volunteers N237 - Construction Board 67 Truong Son Thanh Hoa met to recall memories after 55 years of establishment.

Liaison Committee N273 - Construction Committee 67 Truong Son Thanh Hoa received a flower basket from comrade To Huy Rua, former member of the Politburo , former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Organizing Committee.

On the morning of April 14, the Liaison Committee of the traditional unit of the Youth Volunteer Team against the US to save the country N237 - Construction Board 67 Truong Son Thanh Hoa held a celebration of the 55th anniversary of its founding. Comrade To Huy Rua, former member of the Politburo , former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Organizing Committee, former Youth Volunteer soldier of the unit sent a congratulatory flower basket.

Delegates attending the ceremony performed the flag salute and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs.

The N34 Youth Volunteer Team, consisting of 1,250 men and women from Dong Son, Tho Xuan, Trieu Son, Yen Dinh, Vinh Loc, Hoang Hoa, Tinh Gia (now Nghi Son town), Thuong Xuan, Nhu Xuan, and Nhu Thanh districts, was established by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Administrative Committee on April 14, 1969.

The team was mobilized to join Construction Department 67, renamed N237, with the task of opening roads and building bridges to ensure traffic for combat in the cross-road system of Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh road (road 16).

The team was organized and built on three fronts: production, combat and study; organized into 7 companies, tasked with securing routes with fierce key points. The units overcame countless difficulties and hardships, the harsh climate of the Truong Son mountains and forests, and enemy bombs and bullets. Many comrades were injured and sacrificed.

Teammates met and "shook hands and smiled" to recall memories.

Having completed the mission, in December 1972 the unit handed over the route to the Youth Volunteer Force of Thai Binh, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong provinces. Some officers and soldiers were transferred to other fields, went to university, and were discharged and returned to their hometowns...

On April 10, 2009, the Thanh Hoa Province Association of Former Youth Volunteers issued a Decision to establish a Liaison Committee consisting of 11 comrades. Since its establishment, the Liaison Committee has successfully organized occasions to celebrate the unit's traditional day, the Ho Chi Minh Trail opening day, the Truong Son Troops' traditional day... Thereby promoting charitable activities, playing a good role as a historical witness in resolving regimes and policies for comrades, while preserving and promoting the tradition of the Vietnam Youth Volunteers, the heroic Truong Son soldiers.

At the ceremony, representatives of former Youth Volunteers N237 - Construction Board 67 Truong Son Thanh Hoa reviewed the tradition, shared memories and proposed some solutions to continue promoting the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", being exemplary and responsible in building the unit together, organizing the Association to develop and educate the tradition of patriotism for the younger generation.

Chairman of the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers Le Van Thanh awarded the badge of Former Youth Volunteers following Uncle Ho's teachings from the Central Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vietnam to individuals.

Representatives of Thanh Hoa Power Construction Joint Stock Company presented gifts to relatives of martyrs.

On this occasion, the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers awarded 100 badges of Former Youth Volunteers following Uncle Ho's teachings from the Central Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vietnam to individuals; presented traditional flags and certificates of merit to collectives and individuals.

The Thanh Hoa Truong Son Tradition Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 individuals and 4 groups and presented books to delegates. Thanh Hoa Power Construction Joint Stock Company presented 30 gifts to martyrs' relatives and souvenirs to units.
