Ho Chi Minh City National University has just announced the results of the first round of admission to the program to attract outstanding young scientists and leading scientists to work (VNU350 program) this year. Accordingly, among the 22 scientists admitted this round, 21 have PhDs graduated from abroad.
According to information from the VNU350 Program Recruitment Council, this year's first round had 51 applications, of which 44 were valid. Through the selection and interview process, 22 candidates were officially admitted to 4 member units of Ho Chi Minh City National University, including: University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences, University of Economics and Law, and University of Health Sciences.
Among the 22 scientists selected in this round, there are 21 PhDs who graduated from foreign countries such as: National University of Singapore (Singapore), Seoul National University (Korea), University of Texas at Austin (USA), RWTH Aachen University (Germany), Sorbonne Paris Nord University (France), Keio University (Japan)... Notably, there are 6 people who graduated from universities in the top 100 in the world . Many of these people have published dozens of scientific articles in prestigious international journals, with the largest number of publications being up to 72 articles.
To apply for the VNU350 program, candidates need to meet the general conditions and standards as well as specific criteria for young scientists and leading scientists.
Regarding remuneration, excellent young scientists and leading scientists participating in the VNU350 program will enjoy support policies from Ho Chi Minh City National University and each recruiting unit. Scientists will enjoy income and other remuneration according to the specific policies of the unit where the scientist works. Notably, the one-time attraction policy at some units such as: University of Economics and Law, professor 350 million VND/person, associate professor 250 million VND/person, doctor 150 million VND/person...
The VNU350 program aims to realize the vision of developing Ho Chi Minh City National University into a top research university system in Asia. The university aims to recruit 350 scientists under the VNU350 program by 2030. To date, after the first four recruitment rounds, 49 scientists have been admitted to the program.
Invite world-class university professors to give lectures
In addition to the VNU350 Program, Ho Chi Minh City National University also implements a visiting professor program. Visiting professor is a position appointed by the President of this University, working on a part-time basis, performing teaching and research directly or remotely via the Internet at member and affiliated units.
The individuals invited to participate in the program are professors, associate professors, experts, scientists, and managers with outstanding achievements; currently working at universities, research institutes, international organizations, and technology corporations abroad; with ambitions, aspirations, and wishes to contribute, build, develop education, science - technology, and innovation for Ho Chi Minh City National University in particular and for Vietnam in general.
The program aims to appoint 100 visiting professors in the 2025-2030 period, with 50 invited and appointed in 2025 and 2026. By May, the university had invited a total of 28 visiting professors. Among them, many professors, associate professors and researchers come from many of the world's leading prestigious universities such as Harvard Medical School (USA), University of Toronto (Canada), Technical University of Munich (Germany), Georgetown University (USA), Institute of Advanced Science and Technology (Japan)... These are prestigious experts in fields such as artificial intelligence, microchip design, medicine, biotechnology, ethnology, linguistics, digital agriculture and climate change...
