8 teams compete in the 2025 Provincial Women's Football Championship

DTO - On the afternoon of April 10, at Vinh Hung Sport Complex (An Hoa Ward, Sa Dec City), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Sa Dec City to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 Dong Thap Provincial Women's Football Championship.

Comrade Nguyen Binh Minh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament; Comrade Vo Thi Binh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Dec City, Head of the Organizing Committee of the host locality attended.

This year’s tournament brings together 8 teams from Chau Thanh, Lap Vo, Hong Ngu, Tan Hong districts, Hong Ngu city, Sa Dec city, Cao Lanh city and Dong Thap University. In the tournament, 8 teams are divided into 2 groups, competing in a round robin to select the 4 teams ranked first and second to enter the semi-finals to compete for the championship cup.

According to the tournament organizers, this is a healthy sports playground for athletes to exchange, learn, and practice sports to improve their health. At the same time, it creates opportunities for female players to demonstrate their talents and competitive spirit on the field, contributing to the development of the women's football movement in the locality.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first matches of Group A and Group B took place enthusiastically, attracting a large number of fans to cheer. In Group A, Chau Thanh district drew 0-0 with Cao Lanh City, while Tan Hong district and Hong Ngu district also shared points with a 1-1 draw. Group B witnessed an exciting match with Lap Vo district winning 5-3 against Sa Dec City; the remaining match between Dong Thap University and Hong Ngu City ended in a 0-0 draw.

The tournament is expected to close and award prizes on the afternoon of April 13.
