On October 1, the Department of Cinema held the Award Ceremony of the 2023-2024 Feature Film and Documentary Scriptwriting Competition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2030).
According to Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Department of Cinema, after 8 months of launching and 2 months of receiving scripts, the contest has attracted the participation of professional and amateur screenwriters.
There are authors who participate in 2 scripts in one category and have scripts competing in both documentary and feature film categories.
Young authors are between 25-35 years old, the oldest author is over 80 years old. There are also Vietnamese authors living, studying and working abroad. That shows the deep affection of the authors for the Party and Uncle Ho.
The content of the scripts participating in the contest has partly reflected the great contributions of the Communist Party of Vietnam to the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The scripts not only focus on the great historical milestones of the Party, but also pay attention to the stories of ordinary people, typical characters of the revolutionary cause from 1930 to the present.
Many works have deeply portrayed the struggle of generations of party members and Vietnamese people.
There are 70 documentary and feature film scripts participating in the contest. The documentary scripts cover a wide range of areas of life, new issues of the country related to the Party's policies, guidelines and leadership; the close relationship between the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army.
The scripts of the feature films in the competition focus on portraying the image of Uncle Ho, linking his revolutionary life with the Vietnamese revolution. The images of a number of Vietnamese revolutionaries and revolutionary movements are central to building the script's content. Many historical events in the Party's revolutionary leadership process have been mentioned and recreated by the authors, reflecting the Party's leadership role in the Vietnamese revolution.
The group of topics on Party building and rectification, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, innovating the Party's leadership methods; fighting against peaceful evolution; preventing and combating corruption; protecting the Party and the socialist regime have also received attention from a number of authors in developing scenarios.
