94.4% of poor and near-poor households in Dien Bien have implemented housing renovation and repair.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Luong, Deputy Director of Dien Bien Department of Construction, said: According to the plan, in 2025, the whole province must complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 5,443 households. Of which, 4,413 poor households will be supported to build new houses and 1,030 near-poor households will be supported to build new houses and repair.

From allocated capital and support from organizations and individuals, the province has completed allocating 304.4 billion VND (100%) for districts to build houses for poor and near-poor households.

Thanks to the support and contributions of organizations, cadres, people and the attention and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, 5,120 poor and near-poor households have completed and repaired their houses.

Along with that, the provincial "For the Poor" Fund has completed supporting house construction for 311 households and coordinated direct support for 4 families with a total of 15,750 billion VND.

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, suggested continuing to pay attention to and speeding up the progress of building new houses for poor households to soon stabilize their lives.

At the meeting of the Steering Committee for implementing social housing policies for policy beneficiaries organized by Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee on the afternoon of June 12, comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee emphasized that a house for the poor and near-poor is not simply a solid place to live but also a warm home of hope for advancement.

Therefore, comrade Tran Quoc Cuong suggested that as soon as the consolidation and establishment of new communes under the two-level local government model are completed, the Party Committees and authorities of the communes must urgently consolidate the Steering Committee for housing construction to ensure that housing construction for poor and near-poor households is not interrupted; and must ensure the completion of the entire program of building new housing for poor and near-poor households before August 31, 2025.

Along with that, the commune and provincial levels must simultaneously carry out work contents to develop social housing and housing for meritorious people to ensure progress and quality.
