95 farmers and scientists will be honored in the 2025 Vietnamese Farmers Pride program

Continuing the success of the 12 previous organizations, as part of the series of activities to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2025), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union organized the Pride of Vietnamese Farmers Program in 2025 with main activities including: Voting for outstanding farmers, scientists of farmers in 2025; organizing the 10th National Farmers' Forum, the President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - Minister of Industry and Trade listened to farmers speak; Meeting with Party and State leaders; Ceremony to honor and award the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer; awarding the title of Farmer Scientist in 2025.

According to the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program, this year there are 100 nominations from 63 provinces and centrally-run cities (old), now 34 new provinces and cities sent in voting applications. After many rounds of nominations from the grassroots level, the Voting Council consisting of leaders, managers, and experts from many ministries and branches has selected 63 best Vietnamese farmers of 2025.

The 63 Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers (NDVNXS) were selected based on 4 main criteria groups: Agricultural production, business, and services; Farmers with outstanding achievements in the new rural construction movement; Farmers with outstanding achievements in the movement of the entire people to protect national security and sovereignty ; Have scientific initiatives and inventions that have been applied and brought high economic and social efficiency...

Of these, there are 54 male farmers and 9 female farmers; including 4 outstanding farmers representing ethnic minorities. Classified by groups, in terms of agricultural production, business and services: 31 farmers; Achievements in the movement to build new rural areas and protect national security: 27 farmers; Initiatives and inventions in agricultural production: 5 farmers.

The youngest outstanding farmer is Mr. Nguyen Tung Duong, 25 years old (born in 2000) from Lang Chanh village, Tam Duong Bac commune, Phu Tho province with a model of making yellow flower tea and trading seedlings with a profit of 1.2 billion VND/year; The oldest outstanding farmer is Mr. Chu Van Sam, 77 years old (born in 1948) from Dong Danh village, An Nghia commune, Phu Tho province with a model of raising dairy cows and business services with a profit of 1.4 billion VND/year.

The farmer with the highest revenue is Ho Phi Thuy (Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province) with a pearl farming model combined with eco-tourism, a production area of 1,000 hectares, producing 320,000 pearls/year with revenue of 95 - 150 billion VND; the second is farmer Nguyen Chi Linh (to Ap Bo Cang, Long Dien commune, Ca Mau province) with a white-leg shrimp farming model, with revenue of 90 billion VND/year.

About 32 Farmer Scientists: There were 49 nominations through the channels of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and several other channels. The selection council selected according to strict and fair principles and selected 32 most outstanding scientists representing groups in research, transfer and application.

Among them, there are 27 male scientists and 5 female scientists. The youngest farmer scientist: 35 years old (born in 1990) is Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan, Tay ethnic group from the Center for Science and Technology (Department of Science and Technology of Lang Son province); The oldest scientist: 87 years old (born in 1938) is Prof. Dr. Mai Van Quyen - Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company. Most of the farmer scientists have a university degree or higher, of which 11 scientists have a doctorate degree; 6 scientists have the title of Professor, Associate Professor.

Many scientists have good inventions and innovations such as: Invention of automatic cassava cutting machine using solar energy by Mr. Pham Van Thanh (Krong Pa, Gia Lai); Invention of mouse trap without bait and crescent-shaped bird repeller by Mr. Tran Quang Thieu - Executive Committee member of Vietnam Mechanical Association from Thuong Tin, Hanoi; Invention of automatic cassava cutting machine using solar energy by Mr. Pham Van Thanh (Gia Lai); Intensive crab farming model by Mr. Nguyen Viet Bac (Ca Mau)...

The 2025 Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program took place in the atmosphere of the country's historical days when the whole country had just celebrated the successful anniversary of major festivals. For the Vietnamese peasant class, this was an occasion to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

The ceremony is scheduled to be held at 8:00 p.m. on October 14 in Hanoi and will be broadcast live on VTV-Vietnam Television. It is expected that the honoring ceremony will be attended by leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, along with representatives of central and local departments, ministries, branches, mass organizations, and many delegates and farmers.

Also on October 14, the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union will take place, receiving the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" during the resistance war against the US for national salvation for the Farmers' Union for liberating zone V and the 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.
