Alan Shearer names England's best player at EURO 2024

TPO - English football legend Alan Shearer has praised the excellence of winger Bukayo Saka at EURO 2024.

England have put their critics at bay since the start of the tournament with a convincing 90-minute victory over the Netherlands in the semi-finals. The Three Lions played with more energy than in previous matches. This is the second consecutive time England have reached the EURO final. Bukayo Saka has been instrumental in the Three Lions' journey to the final. The Arsenal star scored a superb goal against Switzerland and converted a penalty kick.

Ahead of the big match against Spain in the final, Alan Shearer spoke out in praise of Bukayo Saka. He said: "There are players who are really outstanding. We have to mention Bukayo Saka or Kobbie Mainoo. I think Kobbie Mainoo is a great player, I like his temperament, nothing can faze him.

We all thought the defence would be the weak point of this tournament. But it wasn’t, Marc Guehi had a good tournament alongside John Stones. Jordan Pickford deserves a mention too, he made some great saves and saved the penalty in the shootout against Switzerland. However, I think Bukayo Saka will be England’s best player at EURO 2024.

He had a fantastic tournament. Everyone in the team loves him. I hope Bukayo Saka will create a magical moment on Sunday."
