Warming activities to care for workers and laborers

With the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, the Trade Union always puts the work of caring for workers' lives first. From practical work, the Trade Union has been making efforts every day to accompany, share and improve the quality of life for union members and workers.

Warm union meal

In recent days, many workers have participated in a very special shift meal called the Union Meal. This is a meaningful activity to care for workers, implemented by the Tay Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) to grassroots unions (CĐCS) to practically celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

This activity is organized by the Trade Unions from July 20 to September 2, 2025, focusing on two peak periods from July 28 to August 2, 2025 and August 25 to September 2, 2025.

Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor Pham Thi Quyen said: “The union meal is not only a daily meal but also has the meaning of taking care of the material and spiritual life of union members and employees. The union meal provides union members and employees with nutritious meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene, helping employees maintain their health to work effectively, contributing to the increasingly effective implementation of Conclusion No. 03/KL-BCH, dated January 18, 2022 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on improving the quality of shift meals for employees".

Accordingly, the Provincial Federation of Labor selected 8 Trade Unions to organize Trade Union Meals, and at the same time presented 300 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 1 million VND.

In addition, at each Union Meal location, there are many other activities such as developing Union members, organizing Union members' birthdays in July, giving gifts to Union members, employees, etc.

Participating in the Union Meal, Ms. Le Thi Kim Thuy - Employee of Chutex International Long An Co., Ltd. (My Hanh Commune), shared: “The Union Meal was delicious, nutritious and warm. The activities in the Union Meal were also exciting and meaningful, especially the activities of caring for employees in difficult circumstances, helping them reduce pressure in life. I am very grateful for the attention and care of the Union organization and the Board of Directors of the company for the employees. This is the motivation for us employees to try harder at work. I hope that the Union organization and the Board of Directors of the company will have more activities to care for, helping employees to increasingly improve their quality of life.”

Continuing the achievements from 2024 to present, the Union Meal has truly spread and received attention from all levels, sectors and businesses in taking care of Union members and workers.

Union meals also create solidarity within the collective, because this is an opportunity for leaders at all levels, union organizations and units and enterprises to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees, thereby creating a joyful, warm, united and understanding atmosphere.

This is also an opportunity for employees to exchange and share work experiences, bond more closely with colleagues and build friendly relationships at the workplace, thereby improving employee morale.

Rewarding workers' children for excellent academic achievements

Also practically celebrating the 96th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union, the Trade Union of Pou Hung Vietnam Company Limited (Ninh Thanh Ward) organized many activities to care for the lives of workers.

In particular, the Trade Union coordinated with the Board of Directors of Pou Hung Vietnam Co., Ltd. to reward children of employees and workers of the Company who achieved excellent student results in the 2024-2025 school year.

Students with good academic achievements and excellent students are rewarded.

Accordingly, 1,510 students were awarded with a total cost of more than 650 million VND, of which, Pou Hung Vietnam Company Limited supported 300 million VND, the rest from the Trade Union financial fund of the Trade Union.

Specifically, more than 1,000 primary school students were each awarded 400,000 VND; more than 300 secondary school students were each awarded 500,000 VND; more than 100 high school students were each awarded 600,000 VND.

Chairman of the Trade Union of Pou Hung Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Nguyen Huu Can said: “In the past time, the Trade Union has always cared for and taken care of the company's employees, helping them reduce difficulties in life, and have conditions to take care of their children to go to school. In particular, the activity of rewarding children of employees and workers who have achieved excellent and excellent results has been organized for many years to motivate them to continue to study hard, improve their knowledge, become good citizens and later contribute to their homeland and country. Over the years, the number of students being commended has increased, thereby showing the strong influence of the activity, contributing to motivating and encouraging children to strive and make more efforts in their studies. This is also an opportunity for children to go to work and understand more about their parents' work, approach a professional working environment and have interesting practical experiences, helping to improve their social knowledge”.

Meaningful activities in caring for workers' lives not only warm the hearts of workers but also clearly demonstrate the role of companionship and sharing of the trade union organization.

From those practical actions, the trust of union members and employees in the trade union organization is increasingly strengthened, creating motivation for them to confidently stick with and contribute to the development of the enterprise and the locality./.
