At the conference, delegates focused on discussing 7 key groups of issues: from preparing meeting content, examining - supervising - issuing resolutions to meeting voters, receiving citizens, removing practical difficulties, improving the quality of questioning, ensuring representative policies and applying information technology in the activities of the People's Council.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang province, said: After July 1, 2025, the two-level government apparatus in many localities has initially operated stably, resolved work faster, and had clearer responsibilities, especially at the commune level. The activities of the two-level People's Councils have had many positive changes, demonstrating a sense of responsibility, proactiveness and determination to adapt to the new model.
This is not only a forum for exchanging experiences but also an opportunity to summarize the initial practice of implementing the new model; frankly point out difficulties, limitations and shortcomings; share good practices and good models; agree on solutions to improve the quality of the People's Council's activities and orient the new development stage of the province.
The conference is also an opportunity for the Provincial People's Council to fully absorb recommendations and proposals from the grassroots. From there, perfect the coordination mechanism, improve the method of operation; better prepare for the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, associated with the implementation of the province's major development goals in the coming period.
