VNA's international multimedia influence is increasingly enhanced.

Over the past 80 years, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has always strived to fulfill all tasks and missions assigned by the Party and State, while experiencing an extraordinary journey of struggle and development.

During the arduous years of the resistance wars against France and the US, many generations of VNA officers and soldiers heroically sacrificed and fought bravely on the front lines as well as in the rear, making great contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification.

In particular, more than 260 journalists, editors and technicians of VNA have devoted their lives to their career, sacrificed their blood and bones for the Fatherland, leaving behind legacies that will live forever in history.

That was the affirmation of Vietnam research expert, former head of Xinhua News Agency's Hanoi branch, Ling Dequan, when answering an interview with a VNA reporter in Beijing about the development path as well as the role of VNA in Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

On September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, announcing the birth of the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia and opening a new era of independence and freedom for Vietnam.

Thirteen days later, on September 15, 1945, VNA - named by President Ho Chi Minh himself, broadcast the full text of the Declaration of Independence and the list of members of the Provisional Government in Vietnamese, English and French to all Vietnamese people and the world . This day has become the traditional day of VNA.

Mr. Lang Duc Quyen affirmed that in 40 years of renovation, VNA has always steadfastly implemented the leadership and direction of the Communist Party of Vietnam, constantly innovated in propaganda and news reporting work, and become the leading news agency of Vietnam, recognized and highly appreciated by the Party and State.

VNA has continuously improved its scale, technical facilities and the quality of its staff, promoting its important role in orienting public opinion, making great contributions to the country's great achievements in 40 years of renovation.

VNA is the national news agency under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the most prestigious official news agency of Vietnam, and the official information channel of major international media organizations and research institutes to grasp timely information on the political, economic, diplomatic, defense, cultural and other fields of Vietnam.

VNA has an indispensable and enormous influence in Vietnam, and its international multimedia communication capacity and influence are increasingly being enhanced.

Mr. Lang Duc Quyen expressed: "I believe and hope that VNA will seize the opportunity to celebrate its 80th anniversary to continue promoting its glorious tradition in the new era, contributing to the successful implementation of the development goals set by the Communist Party of Vietnam on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding and the 100th anniversary of the country's founding."

Assessing the information role of VNA in contributing to promoting mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Chinese people, the former Head of Xinhua News Agency's Hanoi branch said that China and Vietnam are two neighboring countries, mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers.

In January 1950, the newly established People's Republic of China was the first country to recognize the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) and establish diplomatic relations.

Over the past 75 years, despite changes in the international situation, the two sides have always supported each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation, stood side by side to build socialism, and together advanced in the cause of national modernization, becoming a model of solidarity and cooperation among socialist countries.

It is worth mentioning that since 1950, Xinhua News Agency (THX) has begun to send correspondents to the Viet Bac base area. With the care and support of President Ho Chi Minh and the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, THX reporters were the first to report on major events such as the Vietnam border campaign and the Dien Bien Phu campaign to Chinese and international readers. VNA also sent correspondents to Beijing, China very early.

Over the past 70 years, the friendship and cooperation between THX and VNA has been constantly strengthened and developed along with changes in the situation. Many news, articles and photos from VNA have always been an important source of information for THX's news reports on Vietnam.

The Party Executive Committee of VNA for the 2025-2030 term recently identified overall development goals, five key tasks and three development breakthroughs in the coming period.

The good news is that with the increasingly close cooperation between China and Vietnam, the Chinese news of VNA has been increasingly improved in quality, quick, timely and rich in content, becoming a key information channel for Chinese readers to quickly grasp the situation of the country, politics, sentiments of the Vietnamese people, as well as the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China.

VNA is playing an increasingly important role as a bridge promoting exchange, understanding, communication and cooperation between the people and businesses of the two countries.

Vietnam research expert Lang Duc Quyen emphasized that facing a new historical beginning, the senior leaders of China and Vietnam have reached an important common understanding, together inheriting traditions, continuing the traditional friendship of "the close Vietnam-China relationship, both comrades and brothers"; continuing to promote high-quality comprehensive strategic cooperation according to the common goal of "6 more", ensuring steady progress in building the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future.

As key media agencies of the two countries, VNA and THX are closely cooperating in informing and promoting bilateral relations./.
