Thousands of Vietnamese fans were present at Prince Stadium to watch the match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Thailand in Group B of men's football at the 32nd SEA Games.
On the afternoon of May 11, U22 Vietnam had the final match of the group stage of men's football at the 32nd SEA Games against U22 Thailand. According to records, at around 5:00 p.m., the bus of U22 Vietnam arrived at Visakha Stadium. This match also received a lot of attention from Vietnamese fans. Many hours before the match took place, thousands of spectators came to Prince Stadium with the hope of being able to enter the stadium to watch the match. Many fans did not mind the long distance and traveled from Vietnam to the capital Phnom Penh to directly watch coach Troussier and his team face Thailand. To enter the stadium, fans must go through strict security checks. Ms. Lam Hong Phung (living in Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "Although it is no longer decisive in the ticket to the next round, Thailand has long been a big opponent of U22 Vietnam. I am so happy to be able to go to the stadium to watch U22 Vietnam compete against Thailand right in Cambodia." The audience kept cheering in the stands even though the match had not started yet. It is likely that the Prince Stadium stands will be “dyed red” by Vietnamese fans. The match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Thailand will take place at 7:00 p.m. tonight (May 11).
