On the morning of August 16, along with the people of the S-shaped strip of land, a large number of Samsung employees in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen - the company's two largest "bases" for manufacturing mobile phones and components globally - simultaneously Put on the red shirt with yellow star, sing the national anthem and move forward together for a united, strong and sustainable Vietnam.
This is an activity in response to the event “Moving Forward with Vietnam,” with the message “1 billion steps into the new era,” jointly organized by Nhan Dan newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security , to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security.
As the largest FDI enterprise in Vietnam, Samsung leaders said they are proud that Vietnamese employees are both the workforce that creates modern high-tech devices "made in Vietnam," and the hearts that are ready to beat in unison with the country.
“We believe that every step of Samsung employees will join 1 billion steps of Vietnam in this meaningful campaign to create strength, belief and aspiration, moving forward with Vietnam,” said Mr. Na Ki Hong - General Director of Samsung Vietnam.
This activity is also in line with Samsung's ongoing programs to encourage physical exercise, build a healthy lifestyle and protect the environment by reducing carbon emissions. Therefore, participating in the program is not just a sports activity or a community event, but a meaningful journey, spreading the Vietnamese spirit.
Samsung built its first TV factory in Ho Chi Minh City in 1995. Then, in 2008, it continued to build the Samsung Electronics Vietnam mobile phone factory in Bac Ninh. To date, Samsung's presence in Vietnam includes 6 factories, 1 Research and Development (R&D) Center and 1 sales entity. Samsung is the largest foreign direct investor in Vietnam with a total investment capital of up to 23.2 billion USD. Samsung's export value in 2024 reached 54.4 billion USD.
During 30 years of accompanying Vietnam, Samsung has been constantly striving in community activities, aiming to become a business that receives much love from the Vietnamese people. Actively participating in the program "Moving Forward with Vietnam" is a vivid proof of that spirit.
The Organizing Committee recorded more than 1 million people participating in the "Moving Forward with Vietnam" walk in Hanoi Capital and 33 provinces and cities, 3,121 communes, wards and special zones.
