Apple hints at surprise again

Apple has just confirmed that it is about to launch a new MacBook Pro, most likely using the M5 chip and adding a blue color.

In a post on social network X on October 15, Global Marketing Director Greg Joswiak revealed that Apple is about to launch a new device. Based on the shared video, the next product is most likely the MacBook Pro M5.

“A new power is coming,” Joswiak said in the post. The video included the words “Coming Soon” and the side of the MacBook Pro.

Joswiak's video reveals some interesting details. The video's main color scheme and lighting effects are blue. According to 9to5Mac , it's possible that the MacBook Pro M5 will add a blue color, like the MacBook Air and iPhone Air. Currently, the MacBook Pro line only comes in black and silver.

The MacBook Pro in the video is folded in a “V,” which could be the Roman numeral for 5, a reference to the M5 processor. Joswiak also starts the video with “Mmmmm,” which could also be a reference to the M5.

Apart from the above information, the video does not share any further details about the new product. Previously, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman listed the devices launched by Apple this week, in addition to the MacBook Pro, there are also the iPad Pro M5 and Vision Pro M5.

“With the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and AirPods Pro 3 already announced, Apple will focus on the rest of its fall products this week,” Gurman shared in the Power On newsletter.

Apple is expected to launch the entry-level MacBook Pro M5 (14-inch size) first, while the more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max models (14/16-inch size) are expected to launch early next year.

Gurman points out that the current MacBook Pro M4 is in short supply, while the M4 Pro and M4 Max are still in regular supply. Shortages are often a sign that a newer version is coming soon.

The MacBook Pro M5 may be the last generation to retain the current design. Starting with the M6 ​​series, the company is expected to switch to a new design, using an OLED screen similar to the iPhone and iPad Pro.
