Arsenal has not given up hope, coach Arteta makes a bold statement: Will defeat PSG right in Paris

In the early morning of April 30, Arsenal lost 0-1 to PSG at home at Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals, but all hope has not been lost for the return leg on May 8 in Paris. Coach Arteta declared that he will turn the situation around.

Arsenal will do something special against PSG

At home, Arsenal failed to capitalize on their advantage when PSG had an early chance to score the only goal of the match in the 4th minute, scored by striker Ousmane Dembele. A quick combination between Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia penetrated the Gunners' defense, leaving coach Arteta disappointed on the sidelines.

Conceding an early goal, Arsenal struggled to regain control of the game, while PSG showed their determination to finish off their opponents right from the first leg. However, the Paris team failed to capitalize on the good opportunities to increase the score gap.

Winning by only a minimal score of 1-0, PSG clearly leaves Arsenal with a lot of hope even though they play the second leg away at Parc des Princes in the middle of next week (2am on May 8).

"This Champions League semi-final is only half-time. We still have every chance to reach the final. If you want to reach the Champions League final, you need to do something special. We will need to do something special in Paris," Arsenal coach Arteta declared.

Coach Arteta also said: "Arsenal defeated Real Madrid (3-0 and 2-1 in the quarter-finals), so we can beat any opponent no matter what the situation is. I believe Arsenal will reverse the situation against PSG in the second leg to reach the Champions League final."

Meanwhile, PSG coach Luis Enrique said: "PSG have achieved their first goal of winning the first leg away. We will complete our place in the final by continuing to win the second leg at home. We do not underestimate Arsenal, they are extremely difficult opponents and can score at any time. Therefore, we must be very focused to do our best work."

After PSG's victory at the Emirates, the only goal scorer Ousmane Dembele was injured. According to coach Luis Enrique: "Dembele will be examined on April 30. It seems that his injury is not serious, but we will still check to ensure he is available for the second leg."
