Ba Che: Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children

Ba Che has effectively implemented the child care and protection program with the motto "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children".

Over the years, Ba Che district has always paid special attention to the cause of protecting, caring for andeducating children. The district has well implemented the mechanisms and policies of the Central and the province on protecting, caring for and educating children; prioritizing the allocation of resources along with social mobilization resources to care for children.

As of May 2025, the district has 7,347 children, accounting for 30.7% of the total population. Currently, the district has 228 children in special circumstances, children who have lost their source of care, including 3 children who are orphans of both parents and live with relatives; 150 children in difficult family circumstances; 65 children with disabilities, severe and extremely severe disabilities (receiving monthly allowances); 10 children who have lost their source of care (receiving monthly allowances).

Every year, the district successfully organizes the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children and the opening of summer activities, with hundreds of children participating. In early June, Ba Che District Youth Union, the Center for Information and Culture, and the District Department of Education and Training coordinated to organize the opening of summer talent classes in 2025. It is expected that by the end of July, agencies and units will organize 25 talent classes in sports, culture, and foreign languages, including: Badminton, swimming, basketball, soccer, chess, fine arts, music ... at the stadium, multi-purpose training hall and standard rooms of high schools in Ba Che town.

One of the activities that Ba Che district pays special attention to is mobilizing resources to participate in caring for children in difficult circumstances in the area. Through specific forms of support, such as: Visiting, giving scholarships, books, clothes, supporting housing repair costs... has contributed to reducing part of the economic burden on the children's families, helping them continue to study and excel.

For example, in mid-May, the Provincial Association for the Support of the Disabled and the Disabled in collaboration with the People's Committee of Ba Che District and the Ha Long Charity Club organized the program "Engrave love - Share happiness" to present 246 uniform T-shirts to students of Don Dac Primary and Secondary School; presented gifts to 5 orphaned and disabled students with special difficulties and presented gifts to 5 teachers with difficult circumstances working at the school, with a total value of 30 million VND. It is known that Don Dac Primary and Secondary School is located in Tau Tien village, about 15km from the center of Don Dac commune; all students studying at the school are Dao ethnic people, whose families still have many difficulties.

In parallel, the district also organizes management and education activities for children and students, ensuring practicality, effectiveness, and suitability to the needs and psychology of each age group, focusing on activities on child protection, with drastic solutions in preventing and combating child abuse, violence, and preventing accidents and injuries, especially drowning in children. Building a safe family, community, and online environment for children; strengthening communication on the information system from the district to the grassroots level, providing guidance and warnings about risks, methods of child abuse, and ways to prevent and respond to children and parents; disseminating to residential groups, neighborhoods, and households about laws, knowledge, and skills to prevent child abuse and prevent domestic violence.

100% of the district's social workers are trained to improve their capacity and knowledge on child protection, care and social work with children, and consulting skills on managing children in special circumstances. In addition, the district also builds a system to provide consulting services and support children...

The work of protecting and caring for children in Ba Che district has recently had positive changes, especially the propaganda of accident and injury prevention for children has been carried out by all levels, sectors and parents; the work of educating life skills for children has been effectively implemented by schools.

Thereby, children live in a safe, healthy, friendly environment, are cared for to develop comprehensively, the development indicators for children in the district reach high rates. 100% of children in special circumstances are supported and cared for regularly; 100% of children under 6 years old are issued health insurance cards, examined and treated according to regulations. The rate of mobilizing students at all levels to go to school increases every year; the rate of malnutrition in children decreases to a low level; the youth movement of the district has achieved many outstanding achievements.
