Mobilize both motorboats and handboats

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Hoa said that the Huong Pagoda area (My Duc district, Hanoi ) is currently experiencing heavy rain, and the Yen stream has risen high and flooded the road.

However, when people heard that the ferrymen were on their way to the flooded areas of Thai Nguyen, Yen Bai , Phu Tho, etc., they immediately braved the rain and cycled to bring gifts. Some gave 3 boxes of instant noodles, others donated rice cakes, milk, dry food, etc.

Some people contributed. They mobilized all the young men in the village to push the boat onto the truck. “We have a crane, but it takes a long time to lift it. That’s why people are impatient. They lift it by hand to speed it up. We have to be quick because people in the areas need us,” said Ms. Hoa.

It was raining heavily, but many young people were not wearing raincoats.

Their village transported 39 boats to Yen Bai and Thai Nguyen areas.

The work of the ferry girls at Huong Pagoda is a bit difficult when the water flows strongly.

They decided to add more motorboats. All the motorboats in the village were mobilized. As of the afternoon of September 10, 3 motorboats had set out to help people in the flooded areas.

Ms. Hoa shared that motorboats help to easily access areas with strong currents. However, handboats are still effective, easily entering small villages to help people.

Bring necessities to support people in flood areas

“We also brought many necessities such as instant noodles, water, bread, milk for children… Some people even sponsored pre-cooked porridge, packaged in boxes for people to eat hot. In addition, there were medicines, physiological saline…”, she said.

Ms. Hoa was moved and said that only now did she realize that the spirit of mutual love of her people is very high.

As soon as the shout was made, people rushed to contribute. The whole small village did not sleep all night, just hoping to have enough strength to help the people.

“A handful when hungry is worth a whole bag when full. I really appreciate the ladies in the village who give little but give a lot,” she said.

Arriving in Thai Nguyen, Mrs. Ly Dau Dau, despite her advanced age, was still enthusiastically rowing a boat to do charity work. She rowed for several hours without feeling tired. She also took a pregnant woman about to give birth to the ward health station quickly.

Her daughter, Nguyen Thi Hang, is very proud of her mother’s work. From the rear, she continuously posts: “Mom, keep it up. You row so well. People need boats and also need boatmen, people who know how to row, everyone.”
