Uncle Ho wrote about the South - the citadel of the Fatherland

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Southern Resistance Day (September 23, 1945 - September 23, 2025), the Truth National Political Publishing House launched the book "The South is the citadel of the Fatherland". The book is not only a heroic chronicle but also an epic of the indomitable spirit, loyalty and loyalty of the people here.

The book has three parts: “I swear to you to maintain the independence and freedom of Vietnam”, “The South is the citadel of the Fatherland”, “The South will surely win”; including articles, speeches, telegrams, letters, congratulations, visits, encouragement and motivation of President Ho Chi Minh to cadres, soldiers and people in the South from 1945 to 1969.

Through each letter and telegram, Uncle Ho always followed every step of the Southern revolution, showing that he was always by the side of the Southern people. Every day, every hour, every big and small task, he always turned towards the South and paid special attention to the cadres, soldiers and people - those who were steadfastly fighting on the front line against the US, as well as the Southern cadres, soldiers who had regrouped, and Southern students who were living and studying in the North.

In many letters, telegrams, speeches, articles, interviews..., he always used the most noble, solemn and passionate words to praise the indomitable spirit, resilience, and deep patriotism of the people, cadres and soldiers of the South. He was very proud of the heroic South and acknowledged and praised the resilient fighting spirit of the army and people of the South. On behalf of the Government, he presented the people of the South with the glorious title: "Citadel of the Fatherland".

The book clearly depicts the image of the "copper citadel" not only through typical historical events, but also through portraits of ordinary but great people - mothers, brothers, and soldiers who incarnated into the country.
